We stayed in the flat over New Year whilst attending a friend's wedding. Louise is a superb host and messaged with taxi details before our arrival and was there to greet us and show us around. The flat is fabulous. Spacious, homely and beautifully furnished. Situated in a quiet road it's very peaceful. If you can tear yourself away there's plenty on your doorstep with the botanical gardens and Byres Road just a short stroll, as well as an abundance of cafés and bars. If you're heading to Glasgow it's a must stay and I hope to return sometime soon.
I booked Louise's place for initially for our family trip which I ended up not being able to join. Louise was great as to the situation and cooperative on scheduling accordingly. My parents and brother who stayed at her place for 5 days shared how much they were pleased with her place: location, interior and spaciousness. My mother especially appreciated her hospitality to prepare a loaf of bread and drinks which became convenient breakfast after a long international flight and late night arrival. They also appreciated Louise's responsive and flexible schedule on arrival and departure!
Louise was a fantastic host during our recent weekend in Glasgow. We arrived off a late train on a Thursday night and she was very friendly when she met us at her flat to give us an induction . Her flat is gorgeous and she left us well equipped with fresh eggs and bread for our breakfast. The flat is spacious and well appointed, we had to iron clothes the next day for a wedding which was no problem. Would definitely recommend host & flat.
Louise met us at the flat and showed us how to use the heating/TV/ oven etc. She was welcoming and helpful. We knew the city but there were tourist information leaflets in her hallway. The flat was very tidy. We bought logs from the nearby waitrose and used the woodburner. Everything worked well. Good shower. Lots of free on road parking. No trouble to find a space. A short walk to the botanical gardens and Byres road. Lots of good coffee shops nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again.
Stayed two nights at Louise's apartment and we had a great time. House was clean and spacious for our family of 6. Wonderful experience! =)
We had a really perfect time in Glasgow staying as Louise's flat.
Prior to our arrival from the airport from an international trip, Louise provided me with cab booking information and directions, and worked out the arrangements for letting us into the flat when we needed, and even brought us fresh milk and bread.
Although Louise was not in town, she was in contact with me throughout our 4 day stay, as was Jackie, the caretaker.
As soon as we walked into the apartment, we knew we had found the right place to stay. It is an elegant and very clean apartment, 2 spacious bedrooms (one is a bit larger and airier than the other), and the living room is very large and airy. It is full of beautiful artwork, books, and furniture. The kitchen is very modern and well equipped. (We actually did little cooking, since there are many places to choose from in walking distance.) The bathroom is also very modern and clean.
On the entry table there is much travel information about Glasgow, and Jackie gave us the additional information we needed to find groceries, trains, etc.
The location is in a quiet part of town but a 5-10 minute walk to the heart of the West End which has a number of great restaurants and shops. We didn't have a car, but parking is possible in the neighborhood.
The Botanic Gardens are 5 minutes away, and I'd say it is more like a 15 minute walk to the subway. The tourist bus loop stops at the Botanic Gardens, and there are city buses as well. It would have been a good thing for us to get a 2 day tourist bus pass when we arrived.
hôte très agréable, discrète.
