San Francisco was amazing.
Room at Roberta's is small, but that's all you need.
Bit of an inconvenience in regards to the bathrooms. Blue room is upstairs. There's a bathroom right next door, but your not allowed to use that one. You have to use the downstairs bathroom in Roberta's room - feels like a bit of an intrusion. Only when they're there and their bedroom door is closed, are you allowed to use the upstairs bathroom. Bit confusing.
Little bit of an inconvenience that you're not allowed to use the kitchen. I thought that would be cool, but ghen in the evenings when I felt like a cup of tea, I couldn't make some. I had to go out and look. It's not that big of an inconvenience, but still. You have to be prepared.
Clean place and room.
Wooden floors. Kitchen next door to your room. So if someone comes upstairs late, it makes a lot of noise.
Overall stay was fantastic though.
I met briefly with Roberta and her family, but enjoyed my chats. I was even adopted by the cat ❤ I would love to stay with them again and highly recommend them. She is a considerate and kind hostess.
I had a very nice stay at Roberta's place. She and her husband were very welcoming and nice; they gave me some tourist guides and advice about how to explore the city and even where to find a very good breakfast nearby - at Angelina's. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable: the bathroom was very nice as well. The area seemed like a safe area. It is a 15-minute walk from the beach from where you can see the amazing Golden Gate Bridge. It is also close to supermarkets, cafes, shops and restaurants. The bus station of the line 38 is conveniently located within 5 minutes of the house and it takes you all the way downtown.
I highly recommend this room to anyone who would be interested in renting it.
Staying at Roberta's was a wonderful experience for a first time airbnber! She was very helpful with bus directions for someone new to SF, as well as with arrival and departure times, and responded promptly when setting up the stay. She and her family were also very welcoming, even though our paths didn't cross too often, as I was soaking up their beautiful city.
The location was also perfect to explore SF - very easy bus access into the heart of the city & easy connections to explore other parts, easy walking distance to the beach or to Golden Gate park, great neighborhood restaurants, and quiet for restful sleep after walking around SF's neighborhoods and hills.
I would definitely recommend Roberta's place - she was a wonderful host!
My stay with Roberta was great, though I was hardly ever in the room as I was out exploring San Francisco. It's a very nice and comfortable room and was perfect for what I needed. The house is also right by a bus stop that you can very easily take downtown. Roberta and her husband are more than willing to share their suggestions for things to do and places to go. They also have a very nice cat!
Slept excellent at Roberta's, the room is small but very nice - so if you are gone almost all day to explore the city anyway, it is the right place to stay. The busses 38 and 1 take you straight into the city and also after dark it feels safe to walk fm the bus stop to the house.
Roberta and her family were fabulous, friendly hosts and I would certainly stay with them again. They provided me with great local knowledge of things to do and see. The room was clean and comfortable and their location suited me perfectly - good access to buses to/from the city, lots of places to eat (Angelina's is great for good coffee and breakfast treats - cnr 22nd and California). If you are into walking it's a great location to explore on foot - Land's End, Golden Gate Park, Legion of Honor is 5 minutes away (definitely a must do for those who enjoy art) and the beaches are great - China Beach, Baker Beach and you get some great views of the bridge.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.
My stay at Roberta's place was more than comfortable. I arrived very late at night, as where Roberta still took time to show me around their house and explain everything. The next morning she offered me a lift into town and I got a sightseeing tour for free. I could also use her bike to ride the Golden Gate Bridge. The room is not too big, but big enough for anyone who is travelling with normal luggage size. There is a great view over the garden and your own door to step outside on the deck. Roberta's place is the perfect place for anyone wanting to visit all highlights of San Franciso while staying in a more quiet and peaceful part with a lot of supermarkets and restaurants. Since the public transport is very well organised in San Francisco you can see all major sights in just three days. I just had a wonderful stay at Roberta's and I very highly recommend it to everyone travelling to San Francisco by themselves.
Staying with Roberta and her family was great. She was very sweet and accommodating. Her home is so cute and clean. The neighborhood is clean and safe... great little spots and coffee shops everywhere.
I was up from LA for Outside Lands.... Roberta's place was a straight shot from where I needed to be. Fell in love with San Francisco.
I would definitely recommend her place to anyone wanting to stay near Golden Gate park.
Roberta's place is perfect for anyone wanting to tour around San Francisco. It is easy to access two major bus routes that run into the "touristy" parts of the city. Also, China Beach is a 5 minute walk north and Golden Gate Park a 25 minute walk south (there's also a bus that will take you to GGP). The area is extremely safe - I was returning on the bus around midnight and didn't feel at all threatened to be by myself - and the room is great. I didn't see Roberta much, as I was up and out early, returning after they had gone to bed. I would highly recommend the space if you want to say outside of the hustle and bustle but still be able to access it within minutes.
