We, Sam and Amanda, are friendly, accommodating and welcoming. We love Alaska and enjoy being ambassadors to this great state and the wonderful city of Anchorage. Sam is a teacher and Amanda works for a public lands not-for-profit.
We spend our time outdoors as much as possible, with hiking, backpacking, pack-rafting and skiing being our favorite hobbies. Our favorite places are the Alaska Native Heritage Center and its live performances, the Chugach Mountains (which surround Anchorage), Denali National Park, Prince William Sound and the amazing Municipal Parks right here in Anchorage.
We appreciate getting to know the culture of an area when we're traveling and like to avoid "touristy" shops and restaurants. If you like nature, cultural activities, and enjoy experiencing local favorites, we will be a good match. We will respond to your questions and provide guidebooks, maps, and friendly recommendations. We want to serve your needs AND respect your privacy.
We do have a black lab who lives upstairs with us. She barks when visitors knock on our front door and is otherwise a quiet dog. She is not allowed downstairs.
