My stay at Jungle's Edge was really nice. Unfortunately, I could not meet Edie but Dave was there and helped me out with everything I needed. I spent about a 8-9 nights in a tent but then had to upgrade to a room because I was taking a pretty intensive course at Nosara Yoga Institute and the windy nights were keeping me up so I was not getting enough sleep. I'd say that for people that do need plenty of sleep, the tents might work for a few days but I'd probably recommend a room after a few nights. The workout area was amazing and so was the pool. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone taking courses at Nosara Yoga Institute because it's just a short 5-10 min walk from there.
Comfy tent! Clean sheets, nice quiet neighborhood . . . except at 5am when the howler monkeys wake you up. Overall, the food is good, smoothies are really good, and the people are cool.
Jungle's Edge was ok. It's not right on the beach but for the price it seems like a reasonable tradeoff. Most of the positive reviews on here are for Edie, the owner, but when I was there Edie was out of town. Her husband Dave, who was running the place in her absence, was rarely around, and the staff are generally friendly but speak limited English so weren't of much help; as a result I found the quality of service to be severely lacking. If Edie is around this is probably a good bet, but if not - there are better options available.
I was blown away by my experience at jungles edge. The food, company and hut were all perfect. Edie was out of town during my time there, but her husband David was a great host. The infinity pool is gorgeous atop the trees and it is so close to everything I wanted (yoga at the institute, restaurants, the beach, surfing, etc). Omar created fantastically healthy dishes on site and the fresh flowers picked for me, monkey howls in the morning and feeling of safety with the dogs on site were all great bonuses. Though I didn't meet Edie, everyone else at the edge raved of her huge hospitality. A great first AirBnB experience! -Kat
Had an absolutely fantastic stay at Jungle's Edge. Rented a tent and it turned out to be really comfortable. Had a little fridge and a fan.
Was travelling by myself and Edie and her crew helped me feel very welcome and at home.
The common area is great, has a little restraurant, kitchen, beautiful gym and a pool with an amazing view of the mountains!
Will definitely stay there again whenever I am back to Nosara!
Please come by and say Hello.
Edie really made us feel welcome. This place is amazing and fits all levels of comfort in my opinion. My friend and I stayed in the huts and they were fantastic. We were visiting CR during an extremely hot time of year but the huts were very comfortable at night. An extra treat were the sounds of howler monkeys in the tress above us!! The cooking area was great to either prepare your own food or purchase (email hidden)e gym area we awesome and got a terrific workout from trainer Jon. Wasn't around for the yoga class but I'm sure they are amazing as there's a yoga institute right down the street. The town of Nosara is very rural and not as touristy as other places which gives it a lot of charm but there are still plenty of restaurants to choose from if you want to go out. We also got a private SUP tour of mangroves that were a short drive away. I cannot wait to come back!!
Definitely stay at Jungle's Edge! Edie and David are absolutely wonderful as are the staff at Jungle's edge, the other people who were staying there and even the dogs!
We were greeted warmly by a member of the staff before Edie gave us a tour and showed us to our room. The room was very clean, so cute and most importantly, the AC was so comfortable.. it was HOT while we were there and we slept soundly and comfortably.
During our stay in beautiful Nosara at Jungle's Edge, Edie arranged a surf lesson as well as massages for my friend and myself. The massage was AMAZING-- I've had a ton of body work done since I was a teenager and this was honestly the best massage of my life. Frank, the surf instructor was incredible-- my friend and I had never surfed and we both caught at least 15 waves a piece while on the water! Edie treated us to Pipas (coconuts that you drink from) after our lesson :)
One amazing thing about JE that is not advertised is the restaurant and exercise area-- the restaurant served delicious, reasonably priced food. Amazing burritos and fresh smoothies!
The huge, gorgeous hardwood yoga/exercise floor was amazing. I couldn't help but work out each day. I did my own circuit workouts and felt amazing-- I wish I could have taken a TRX class while I was there as well.
Edie and David were wonderful hosts and I had the best vacation of my life. The pool area came complete with hammocks, beautiful wooden pool chairs and outdoor shower all overlooking the jungle... how can you beat that?
Nosara was unbeatable, we were two of the only tourists there :) The beach was unbelievable and we were sure not to miss a sunset. Edie and David even joined us for one of the sunsets and we really enjoyed their company.
Sincerely and truly, if you don't stay here, you are missing out on the best value in Nosara. Again, best vacation of my life and Jungle's Edge was an instrumental piece!
Thank you so much, Edie and David. We'll be back!
My stay at Jungles Edge was perfect for the price. Bathrooms are clean, "jungle huts" are comfortable. Met lots of great people also staying. Bring flash light for jungle hut stay, and ear plugs for wind at night. I only had one night with wind. It was a fantastic stay.
Great place, friendly, and relaxing.
My jungle hut was a nice and peaceful home base for a week. The saltwater pool is wonderful, the showers and bathrooms are very clean and convenient, loved the yoga area, and when I didn't feel like cooking, the food at the restaurant/kitchen was tasty. Edie and David were friendly and helpful hosts. Edie invited me to dinner my first night and it was a really nice welcome to Nosara. :)
--Bring decent walking shoes to get around town and to the beach because the roads are REALLY dusty and in poor condition. Ask where the 'jungle paths' are located because those are much better to use than walking on the road.
--A head lamp came in handy. It's the jungle, it's dark!
