I stayed at the apartment for 2.5 weeks and wish I could have stayed longer. The location is convenient for walking into the city centre and train station. The apartment itself had everything that I needed and I loved how modern everything was. The one negative was the fact that the air conditioner was broken for the whole time I was there and the apartment would get quite warm in the afternoons. Luckily Aurora had left some fans which helped a lot. All in all I loved my stay here and am thankful for Aurora (and her mother who stayed late to let me in) for making me feel welcome in her home!
On arrival Auroras mother was at the apartment to show us around and give us the keys. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. A fan was provided which was very much needed as it did get a bit stuffy. Sant Cugat is a very nice and we found safe area, often walking home from restaurants in the area late in the evening. I used the pool almost everyday and it is very clean and can be accessed any time of day.
There is a large supermarket very close to the train station which is only a 10minute walk from the apartment and there is an even closer group of shops with fresh butcher, fishmonger and mini supermarket. We took advantage of the barbeque on a few nights of our trip.
The train takes about 20minutes to get to Pl Catalunya and the last trains during the week are at 2am so no rush to get back home. It is also easy to travel to stations near sights such as Parc Guell and Camp Nou and get the bus to them. If we stayed again we'd probably hire a car but it is very easy to navigate from the apartment to the station and find sites using public transport.
Though this didn't affect us, the property including the pool is disabled accessible however there is no way to transfer from a wheelchair into the bath or into the pool without aid. There also isn't enough space to move a wheelchair around the whole bedroom but you can get into the bedroom and then though to the bathroom just not onto the far side of the room where the window is.
Auroras mother was very helpful and though she didn't speak much English and me just basic Spanish we were able to communicate without too much trouble. If I were to stay in this area again I'd be more than happy to stay again!
Thank you for a great holiday!!
Todo perfecto. Aurora y Carmen fueron super atentas y el lugar es precioso. Volveré, Gracias!
Great location near the town square and the transit to Barcelona. Everything is within walking distance. Gated underground parking and gated grounds in a safe neighborhood. We walked home late many nights it was all good. Pool and grounds are well kept.
Aurora was very communicative both before and during our visit, although she was overseas herself. Due to some car trouble, we were delayed and arrived very late. Aurora gave me her mother's phone number which we rang very apologetically, and although she does not speak English, her brother did and was able to interpret. They both came out to meet us, were so welcoming and cheerful despite the late hour. Well, I don't know what to say about the apartment....it was like a sanctuary and a real respite for two hot, weary travellers. The apartment was brilliantly clean, the bed unbelievably comfortable (I want one like that!), and two...yes, TWO ultra modern bathrooms. For us it was a perfect balm after a previously bad experience. The kitchen had all the facilities you would need...except perhaps for a kettle. Use of the pool was available, although we didn't have time to use it. The apartment is very secure, with secure parking as well. A short pleasant walk to the local railway station, and you can catch the metro to Barcelona in 20mins...don't take the car. I should make mention of the local village of Sant Cugat also.....it is a truly charming place, clean, classy, great shops, lots of families and a safe, cheerful communal village square beside a beautiful ancient monastery, now housing the tourist information office. The village was a real bonus. This was a lovely place. My only regret is that we did not get to meet Aurora, but her delightful family made up for it.
Lovely modern groundfloor apartment set in a very nice and family
friendly area. Main town had nice eateries/supermarket/cafes etc plus a
fast (and regular) train connection 100m away which took us right into
the centre of Barcelona for some culture. Shared pool area was clean
and never too busy…friendly neighbours and very helpful owner/host.
We had an excellent time and could not have asked for more! We would definitely come back and recommend this place!
Aurora actually didn't stay at my home but she made reservations for her friends, Irene and Manuel, for their honeymoon. Irene and Manuel were both very friendly, easy to talk to, and respectful of my home. I would not hesitate to host them again!
