I'm an architect working in Bothell, Washington. I grew up in Seattle, and my roots in the region go back four generations. I live an active lifestyle -- hiking, bicycling, camping, enjoying the great outdoors that Washington State has to offer.
I did relief work in Haiti for two months after the earthquake in 2010. It felt good to be helping people, and I worked with a terrific organization, All Hands Disaster Volunteers. I hope to do volunteer relief work at least two weeks every year.
The love of my life? My daughter. She is fun and smart and happy. She lives most of the time with her mom, but we (website hidden) almost every day.
I have a BMW dual-sport motorcycle. I plan to take adventure trips every summer -- Alaska, Yellowstone, Canada. The big goal, maybe in 2013, is to ride with friends to Costa Rica. I'd love to host other motorcycle travelers, and hear your stories.
I have traveled all through Europe; trekked in Nepal; and traveled extensively in the East -- Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, China. I lived in Japan for 1-1/2 years while in school. I speak passable Japanese.
I am a native Seattleite, so I know the city and the area well -- I can assist guests with tourist and sightseeing tips, restaurant and entertainment recommendations, transportation advice, and suggestions for outdoor recreation in the region.
