I enjoyed my stay with Bonnie a lot. She really makes you feel welcome and that her home is also your home. :) The cats are very cute and funny and I liked to have them around even though I was not used to pets before. Some people warned me about the crowded metro, anyways I did never find it too crowded, it’s just like in any other big city during rush hour. Even though the flat is not located in central Paris, you’re rather quick in the city centre. The neighborhood is pretty new which was nice and made me feel safe here. It was nice to share dinners with Bonnie as she’s very good at cooking and the dishes are very diversified. It was great that she also tried to make me experience French culture at home – with wine, cheese dinners, etc. The flat is really comfortable, it’s clean and there’s everything available that you may need! :)
Bonnie was a great host who made me feel quite welcome. She was great company and respectful host. Her two cats were quite fun as well!
Both the apartment and the neighborhood were very nice and clean, Wifi was good and had access to all the essentials (washer, dryer ect.). Saved a fortune on dining out too due to Bonnie's great cooking skills.
Bonnie was a great hostess from the get-go. She welcomed me into her clean, organized, well managed home with dinner and wine prepared.
The house was just as described. Bonnie provided food for the entirety of my stay. Even when she left for holiday travels, she left money for me to buy groceries. She is very attentive to needs, and helpful if you ask.
The only downside that I could note is that the internet was slow in my room during my stay, but that is probably fixable, I just never really tried to fix it. Besides, if you need internet, it is fast in pretty much anywhere else in the apartment.
The metro is about a 5 minute walk away, and gets really crowded during rush hours, but I believe the quality of the apartment makes up for this inconvenience.
The apartment and the neighborhood is very safe. There are not many stores around Carrefour Pleyel, but Saint Lazare is just a couple stops away and has all that you need. The distance from the inner city makes this a good quiet getaway, and it is easy to host many people here for dinners or get-togethers. One time I had friends over, and Bonnie cooked for us, which was HUGE because I am a terrible cook!
The cats are truly wonderful if you like animals that cuddle. The walls are thick so you don't get a lot of noise from neighbors or even the outside. There is an espresso machine which is a plus. Bonnie likes to watch Netflix sometimes, so if you are into that, you could be good friends.
I had searched for a place to live in Paris, and nothing suited me quite as well as Bonnie's place. The home is wonderful, food and drink are plenty, and Bonnie is very respectful and kind. Her generosity will often goes beyond your expectations. If you want easy transport to the inner city, then go with somewhere else. But if you want a quality home for an unbeatable price, then go with this place.
I had a really enjoyable week in Paris staying with Bonnie in her lovely apartment.
The location at St. Denis was perfect, since travel on the metro to most of Paris's tourist attractions only took on average 15 to 20 minutes, and the metro was only a pleasant four minutes walk away. The apartment was always immaculately clean and tidy and is very modern and spacious. The groundfloor terrace/garden is a real bonus for relaxing on a sunny day or dining al fresco on Paris's long balmy June evenings. My room was large and had a great desk and comfortable bed. Bonnie is a warm, friendly, and helpful host who made me feel welcome ( like part of the family) from our first contact. Not only that but she is also a wonderful cook and so I highly recommend staying with her. When I visit Paris again, it will be my first choice for accommodation.
I highly recommend staying with Bonnie in St. Denis. Bonnie is a great hostess. She immediately made me feel comfortable and at home in her apartment. She even adapted her work schedule to accommodate my inconvenient arrival time (noon on a workday). This is a great spot for people looking for a quite place to return to that is easily accessible to the action of Paris, but away from the bustle. The quietness of the location is an added benefit for a student like me, as is the regularity of meals together.
I couldn't recommend Bonnie and her lovely apartment enough. Any queries or questions I had about Paris, Bonnie was only to happy to answer. The apartment itself is immaculate, comfortable and a pleasure to sleep/live in. The nearest Metro station is Carrefour Pleyel, which can takes 20mins to the centre of the city.
Luckily for me and my taste buds Bonnie is a fantastic cook and incredibly generous. So most nights I would pass out after a delicious home cooked meal.
When I visit Paris again, I won't hesitate to stay with Bonnie. Honestly, she made me feel incredibly welcome and added to my Parisian experience.
I enjoyed a warm welcome to France with wine and a pleasant fromage lesson on Bonnie’s peaceful garden terrace. I deliberately packed light as I was able to use Bonnie’s washing machine, dryer and iron and her kitchen is so well equipped to prep snacks and meals to save pennies for delicious macaroons, souvenirs, shopping, museum audio tours and tips for waiters. When our timetables matched, we enjoyed dinner and great conversation about all manner of things over glasses of aperitif and wine. Pack your best (not newly bought) walking shoes and water bottle because Bonnie’s location provides ideal access for adventures to zip across Paris via the Metro, RER and Tram. I enjoyed a quick 3 minute stroll to Carrefour Pleyel Metro Line 13 (M13) which led me to the royal tombs at Basillica Saint Denis in 10 minutes (just one 1 stop away) and one of the largest antique markets, Puce de St Ouen in 15 mins. Ride M13 to Invalides and then west on M1 direct to Charles de Gaulle Etoile to climb the stairs of Arc de Triumph and start at the top of Champs Elysees to walk/shop/eat/people watch. Go east from Invalide to Tuileries and once inside the garden you have choices. Turn right for the Musee de l’Orangerie, rest your heels on a chair fountain side before moving on to the Obelisque and Fontaines des Mers and des Fleuves. Go straight ahead across the beautiful gardens to Musee d’Orsay. Travel one more metro stop to Palais Royal - Musee de Louvre and you have direct underground access to the museum at the end of the platform. Skip the long line up top! Else onwards to Chatelet to shop along bustling Rue de Rivoli or one further stop to Hotel de Ville to walk across Pont d’Arcole to majestic Notre Dame Cathedral and across the pont to enjoy poetry, afternoon tea and a read at Shakespeare & Company and a tasty morsel at one of the alley eateries. Stay on M13 to Ecole Militaire to admire Invalide so you can walk down and enjoy a picnic on picturesque Champ de Mars to admire Tour Eiffel before your climb or ride up. Else jump off at Invalide and connect to RER C and in 2 stops you have La Seine under your feet on Pont d’lena, in front of Trocadero, the Tour Eiffel with a Champ de Mars backdrop. M13 to Saint Lazare then onto M3 to Republic will see you walking along Canal Saint Martin, shopping with Bobos and stopping at Chez Prune for a palette cleanser. Else continue on M3 Line direct to Pere Lachaise and visit Piaf, Chopin, Morrison and celebrated company. A very special thank you to Christiana and Maria also who were great companions at the end of a day of exploring when we shared historical and travel information, frère jacques at Notre Dame Cathedral, coffee, bagels and fits of laughter. I left Paris with well worn shoes and the fondest...
My experience this one month with Ken was AWESOME.
He’s very kind and polite! And the best cook in Paris!!
The house was very clean and big than appear in the photos. I had the freedom to cook and do another things in the house. For me it was very good. Another important thing, the wireless signal was very good in any place in the house.
He helped me when a need some information’s about Paris, give me some advices and sometimes go out with me.
The biggest difference I realized was the he treated me not as a guest but like a friend. That made my stay much more comfortable and nice!
I recommend to anyone who wants to have a perfect stay in Paris demand it.
Now he isn't a host but a friend!
It was great to stay at Ken's place in Clichy. The house is big and clean, the location good, Ken is very helpful and cooks nice dinners. If you are planning to visit Paris and want to feel at home, I really recommend this place!
Bonnie booked her 21 year old son for 4 nights at my place. I had a previously bad experience with this situation but Bonnie's son was a great guest! He was respectful & pleasant. I would certainly feel comfortable recommending him as a guest & he would be welcome back in my house!
It was great having Bonnie stay for the week and I wouldn't hesitate to host her again. Enjoy the rest of your stay in NZ Bonnie! :)
I found Bonnie & her husband such an adorable couple. Dealing with them was a pleasure and the easiest thing ever. Very communicative, cooperative, understanding, authentic, open minded, easy going, with a great sense of humor... I felt comfortable around them since second 1. I introduced them to the house and left them with such satisfaction that I felt sad they stayed only for the weekend.. (It's a feeling difficult to have with every guest).. I would absolutely recommend them and happily have them back anytime. Thank You for taking care of the apartment and for your good energy!!!
Although Bonnie and her husband stayed a short time, they were very respectful of my apartment and extremely friendly to boot! Would be happy to have them here again.
A really lovely family with an extensive knowledge of Paris and a great taste in food. I enjoyed my stay so much here, the house was perfect and the accommodation was very well set up and private. The area is nice and bustling. It is not too far from the city centre and well serviced by public transport. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking to explore Paris and vouch for everything that has previously been said..
