What a great place to stay! I went with my wife and two children and we had more than enough space. Everything was clean and neat and we felt very welcome. The kids loved being able to open the door and go right out into the woods. Everything was as advertised. We sat by the wood stove, grilled out, used Wifi, relaxed and rested. This house is great.
If you are looking for a nice and quiet place to get away, Andrew's place is it! My family and I shared the space to celebrate my Moms birthday and we all loved it! The house was roomy and felt like home. We all slept well, loved all the amenities and the kitchen was fully stocked and ready for cooking!
We got two surprise visits from a wonderfully adorable puppy named Gerdy. Should you get a chance to meet her she is so sweet and just wants to play!
My only final comment would be in regard to the hill near the house, I would recommend 4WD but if you don't have that, don't let it stop you from enjoying this property.
Andrew's Vermont home in the winter was absolutely stunning and perfect for a cosy weekend ski retreat - it looked exactly like the photos. A few ski areas are nearby and Brattleboro has a great community-run ski and sledding hill ($5!!). The fireplace was a welcome end to the day. We happened to time the visit with the March Sugar Festival in southern Vermont when there are several maple sugarhouse open houses, and were able to do horse sleighing as well. The kitchen was well-equipped and the general space was roomy, full of light and beautifully appointed, it's a gorgeous home. The washer and dryer were useful too. We highly recommend this place to those seeking a beautiful retreat. If you do come in the winter, we suggest a 4WD due to the steep, snowy road.
We had an absolutely fabulous time at Andrew's cottage. It is quiet and out of the way, a great place to relax. Perhaps the best part of the lovely house is the extraordinary light. The skylights and windows flood the place with a warm rich glow. I was a little concerned about how warm it would be with all those windows but the furnace keep the place very comfortable with the outside temperature dropping to 1 degree above zero. Mary is a real treat. She is Jonny-on-the-spot when we needed anything and very helpful and informative. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped and I love to cook. The sound system is quite wonderful and by plugging a little Bluetooth receiver into the front of the AVR and we had Pandora from my cell phone. (I probably could have just used the Apple TV) We really enjoyed having a fire in the soapstone stove. Very romantic. We would go back in a heartbeat.
WE had a lovely time at Andrew's place, It is clean, comfortable, enough room for 4 adults and an infant easily. The description is perfect. Be sure to bring your own firewood as there is none there for the taking. Beds are comfortable, Kitchen is very functional. We met some of the neighbors- they were nice too. Pretty ride to get there.
We had an amazing time at Andrew's Vermont Home. It was clean, intimate, bright and cozy. The kitchen was fully stocked where we were able to make delicious dinners with friends. The jacuzzi tub after a cold day of skiing was just what the doctor ordered. We especially appreciated the amount of thought that went into making the home eco-friendly. Another bonus was the amount of land that the property sits on; in our time we saw a plethora of wildlife which was really refreshing for us city folks. Next time we are in Vermont we will definitely stay at Andrew's place again. So lovely, charming that you feel like your at home.
Andrew's home in Vermont is absolutely lovely. The house itself is really beautiful - an open kitchen, dining area, and living room make it feel really spacious and inclusive. We were two couples and there was more than enough room. The house had everything we needed -- a well stocked kitchen with a variety of utensils and sharp knives, a dishwasher, and a big, modern fridge. The wood burning stove was a much appreciated addition as we used it almost the entire weekend. The 7/11 in town sells wood! The beds were comfortable and it was nice that the house was set up with wifi and apple tv. Additionally, it was also appreciated that Andrew stocks the house with Earth-conscious cleaning/soap products.
The surrounding area is beautiful to walk around and is quite hilly. I felt so appreciative of my four-wheel drive subaru since the roads were still quite snowy. We will definitely be back at some point in the future and would recommend this house to anyone wanting to get away and enjoy the beauty of Vermont.
Everything from the location, (about 25 minutes to the mountain) to the small details like the organic and environmentally friendly products was perfect. The house was spotless and stocked with everything from spices (organic!) to Apple TV. Plenty of sitting and sleeping space for myself and 4 others. The house is much roomier than it looks in the pictures, 4 of us would be in the kitchen at a time, and never felt cramped. I wish I could give Andrew more stars for being the perfect host. We can't wait to go back!
The house is beautiful and roomy. The host was friendly, easy-going and quick in his responses. I spent a February weekend in the house with some family/friends and we were very pleased. In the upstairs, in addition to a bedroom and futon, there is also a spacy office area. We went to ski in Mount Snow both days and there are nice restaurants and diners on the way to have dinner or breakfast. The road to the house was in good condition but in case of a snow storm one might wish to have a SUV/four wheeler or at least winter tires. In normal winter conditions like ours, normal sedan + summer tires were just fine. All in all: highly recommended! Thanks a ton Andrew!
Great rental house. Very clean and spacious as described. Andrew is very responsible and Mary was very pleasant as well. Right off the interstate 91 and a short 40 min drive to Mount Snow. The beds were very comfortable and the house is well stocked with Apple TV, kitchen appliances, towels, washer / dryer, etc. We stayed over the weekend when it was about 5 degrees outside and the house was a bit hard to heat up with the lofty structure. We set the thermostat to 75 degrees, but the heater never really got the room above 65 degrees. The fireplace was great and managed to boost the temp to almost 80, but the temperature dropped back down to the 60s once the fire went out. Probably not a bad idea to bring a warm hoodie, sweat pants, and slippers to wear around the house in the winter. There's a slight incline on the isolated driveway leading up to the house -- a 4-wheel drive / snow tires would be helpful in snowy / icy conditions. Overall, highly recommend the house -- would definitely like to be back again in the future. Thanks Andrew!
