Please do not book without writing me first. I prefer to have some contact/conversation with guest before booking.
Tracy is very very nice and offers helpful advice on what to visit in the city. She made me feel very confortable, made sure I had everything I needed, even gave me earplugs because the neighborhood is very noisy (to be honest to whole city is noisy).
The internet is a bit of a pain and there's no washer or dryer like in most airbnbs where I have stayed, but if you need to wash clothes, there are laundromats nearby.
Great location. Price is not bad considering it's New York City.
Tracy is lovely and welcoming. The room was as expected with a comfy bed and room to hang your clothes in in the wardrobe. The bathroom was nice and clean. It made for a lovely stay in East Village. There are shops and restaurants nearby and the area is great for exploring and walking around.
The only downside is that internet is not available/ unreliable in the building which makes it hard to access information online.
Overall I had a lovely stay and would highly recommend her place. Would definitely return and stay with Tracy should I visit NY again.
Tracy was a really nice person, her daughter too.
The room i had in her house was really confortable i felt at home.
all was like i expected.
My stay with Tracy was my first experience with Airbnb and I was very very pleased with my time at her place. First of all the room is nice with lots of shelf space for your clothes. It's also nice to have a bathroom to yourself. Second of all Tracy is the perfect host. She makes staying in another family's home easy, she makes you feel welcome. She takes a keen interest in you and is very helpful with tips about places and exhibitions that might interest you.
I'm happy to recommend her place.
I stayed with Tracey for just under two weeks at the end of February. In the room that Tracey is renting there was an old blind on the window which in the first few days of my stay, broke and came off the window. I notified Tracey of this. She put it back up but asked me not to touch it. The way the blind was put back up meant that all the natural light in the room was blocked so obviously I was expecting Tracey to fix it. My trip ended and the blind remained broken. I didn't make a fuss as I wasn't in the room much during the day so I wasn't too bothered about it not being fixed.
Fast forward 2 weeks later and lovely Tracey sends me an email saying she will be charging me $100 to fix her old broken blind!
I am in utter shock. I pointed out to Tracey that during my stay she made no attempt to fix the blind and I did not make a fuss about the room having no natural light. In addition the blind was old and I did not tamper with it in any way or use excess force. I am 5ft 2inches and weight 50kg. Unlikely with my small build I have enough force to break a blind.
I also pointed out to Tracey that if I had went to stay in a hotel and the blind broke, the hotel would not expect me to pay for this.
I have rejected Tracey's request that I pay $100 for her broken blind on and will be writing to airbnb separately.
Fellow traveler, please bear this in mind if you are considering staying with Tracey or anywhere else.
Tracy is a great host and her townhouse in East Village is a perfect place to stay for a solo female traveler. I'll definitely stay at her place again when I visit NYC next time.
Tracy's place is a great location to everywhere, and the room is lovely & cozy. You can definitely enjoy your private time since Tracy's family is respective. Her dog - Yankee is very sweet too. Tracy knows well about New York and she recommends good places for eats & visits. It is a good neighbourhood with peaceful atmosphere, there are good cafés and a nice park nearby thus you may enjoy a good breakfast each morning. I would highly recommend her place.
It was wonderful to stay with Tracy. I felt absolutely "at home". The room and bath were perfectly clean and you can get your privacy if you want. Tracy is very friendly and helpful and her dog is really nice.
First I was uncertain about staying in a private room, but I don´t regret having done this. It was an awesome experience. I had a great time in NYC and wouldn't hesitate to stay with Tracy again.
Thank you Tracy!
I stayed at Tracy's place for a bit more than five weeks and loved it.
I felt so comfortable, not only because the house is in a great area with lots of fun places to eat and see, the rooms were perfectly clean and allowed a lot of privacy downstairs, but also because Tracy and her daughter came up with many great ideas and inside tips for my visit. Considerate, cordial and helpful- that's how they seemed to me.
I had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to come back !
You made it even harder to leave, thank you so much!
Tracy was completely wonderful! I was always comfortable at her precious East Village apartment. It was close to so many great eating spots and neighborhoods. She left a paper with recommendations of places to see and restaurants to eat at, which was so helpful. The East Village is a really colorful and fun part of New York City to stay in and Tracy made it that much better for me! I would stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks again :)
