Great apartment; quiet (no night club in the basement during our stay), clean and nice. Great location, you can find whatever you need in the neighborhood. The only negative experience was that the air madrases was damaged so you should check out that these are fine before being more than 4 people.
My wife and I rented this lovely loft for 3 days. The place was exactly as advertised: spacious, well appointed and a great location.
The place is exactly as pictured and was completely clean and comfortable. The location is so close to everything we wanted: Village, Soho, TriBeCa, Meatpacking, etc... We loved our stay here! Henry was easy to deal with and responded immediately to any question or request. We were able to arrange an early check-in and a late check-out. The hallways are a little rundown in the building, but the apartment is awesome and a perfect place for a group (we had 5 in ours). I would definitely recommend Henry and his apartment.
Overall, the loft was very nice and Henry was a great host -- responsive, always available and accommodating. We needed to leave our stuff there on our check out day while we went to a show, and he was very generous in allowing us to do so.
The loft is in a great location in Greenwich Village, and it has some features -- big open space and high ceilings -- that make it very appealing to fans of old buildings (which I am).
The beds were clean and comfortable, we had towels and linens, the kitchen is rather large (for NYC) and the common areas were great. We also found it a real plus having 2 bathrooms. The Washer and dryer came in handy once as well.
We visited NYC with our kids, and there were a couple of issues that would lead me to hesitate to stay here with kids again. First of all, there is a club next door and the "beat" goes until 4 a.m. We could hear it (faintly, but clearly) thru the wall. We fixed it somewhat by turning on the noise machine that the owner has, but if you are a light sleeper it may keep you up. Second, a cold front moved in while we were there and outside temps dropped into the 40s. The temperature in the loft was around 63 to 66 degrees. Apparently is is controlled by the building management, so there was not much we could do aside from bundling up. Our 2 kids sleeping on blow up mattresses on the first floor got cold at night.
All that said, this is a great location for a younger couple, or girls going shopping as it is in a great location close to Soho, and great shops and restaurants. And Henry is a very honest and caring host.
Place was as described, huge common space and two bathrooms made it a great place to stay. Appreciated the clear list of directions and orientation from Henry when we first arrived. There is some bass thumping at night I heard in the bedroom but what you'd expect on a weekend in a location that is in the middle of everything.
Firstly, I will say that the host Henry Ward is a very nice person and communication with him was great on all levels.
As for the place, it's great if you're looking for a fun, frat house, feel. The area, though strategically located, is full of young university party goers, especially on the weekend. I had to literally step over beers bottles, drunken students, etc. . to enter the front door, which was covered in urin inside and out, with that wonderful alcohol smell thrown in for good measure. On my stay the hallway was apparently under renovation, but looked like the inside of crack building in 1980's. The space is big and it has a small terrace, which gives a nice sense, however the second bedroom loft) is better suited to a child, as it seems like a indoor tree house. The beds are comfortable.
An important thing to know is that there is a club next door and though it's New York and normal to hear "the heartbeat of the city", it can be a little annoying to hear the base of a club until 5 am every night. I've lived in the city for nearly 20 years and in many different apts, and know what a noisy apt is. This apt is not noisy, it just has a club thumping through it during the night.
This is my first rental through Airbnb and in NYC, so I don't have much to compare with. I paid a premium price for the place and I feel that I should have have been advised about the state of the entry and even the club. This apt is nice, but it's not for everyone, especially if you need sleep.
Again, the host is a wonderful person and very nice to deal with, just wish he could have given me a little warning about certain things.
The reservation was canceled 20 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Great place - can't beat the location smack in the middle of the village. Nice large open main living space.
We had a great stay in Henry's appartment. You will struggle to find a better located appartment in the whole of Manhattan, it is absolutely perfect. 5 of us stayed here and we still had ample room. Henry is a great host, really relaxed and a pleasure to deal with. I cannot recommend staying here highly enough.
Our stay at Henry's loft apartment was absolutely amazing! I have been to New York City several times before and stayed at other airbnb apartments. This was by far the biggest and best apartment I have stayed in. It is HUGE! We had 3 couples (6 people) staying there and we didn't feel cramped at all. In fact, quite the opposite - the kitchen, living area and balcony all have so much space. Having two seperate bathrooms with showers is a bonus as well.
The private balcony is a great place for a few drinks as well, especially on a nice day.
The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the West Village on Bleecker Street, with so many great cafes, restaurants and bars all within walking distance.
I would recommend Henry's loft apartment to anyone - whether you are 2, 4 or 6 people.

Henry and his party were delightful guests; I understand that they went sailing and enjoyed the beautiful skies. Happy to have had them!
Henry, Walt etc. were an amazing visitors.
I sincerely wish all my guests would be so nice, easy and attentive as this very friendly american family.
The communication was smooth, to the point questions, fast answers, rapid decision.
Installation went well as well as the stay without any big story, It would be very nice and make my life easier to have only Henrys...
