My name is Justin Kase... you'll get it about 7.6 seconds after you finish this sentence.

I'm a 35 year old international photographer who still can’t get over the fact that just because I carry a camera for a job, people so willingly let me into their lives. I’m happiest when I’m totally immersed in the time and culture of the people I get to photograph.

I love the small pleasures in life; like driving in Boston and egging on the Rastafarian taxi cab driver next to me to race, while actually pretending that I’m going to beat him in my 3 cylinder, couldn’t beat a mo-ped, Geo Metro. Or watching a three year old totally try and stuff a cone full of ice-cream in his mouth while getting more on his chin, cheeks and nose, than anywhere else.

I’m grateful for stories that people have to tell, and those who are willing to listen to a few of mine as well. I appreciate sincere thank you’s and open minds. Friends who will go and have pancakes with you after dancing their asses off at the club and losing all their money on black just as the Vegas sun comes up over the horizon.

My pals would say I'm confident, independent, well rounded, curious, loud, entertaining and outgoing. My best pals would say that I’m not always sure of myself and that I’m more sensitive than let on.

If I’m having a really good day, I may have the nerve to tell the girl who works behind the return counter at Best Buy that I think she’s beautiful.

I’m amused by the simplest of things.

I’d rather be outside than inside, I play ultimate Frisbee on Tuesday’s and like to sit on the porch when I eat my lunch.

I'm really good at listening to others. Finding myself on random adventures at a moment's notice. Having intelligent conversations on a rather wide variety of subjects... I'm also pretty darn good at not taking myself too seriously and consequently, putting a smile on the people's faces that find themselves around me.

The first things people usually notice about me is that I'm pretty loud and pretty sarcastic... after that they'll likely notice that I'm rather confident and outgoing.

For fun I'm pretty opened minded, but if it involves the following I'm in:

Being outside, Learning, Period films, Traveling, Experiencing other cultures, History, Storytelling, Dancing, Documentaries, Theater, Astronomy, Driving in the country aimlessly.

Some of my favorite spots include, Yosemite, long country roads, small quaint towns, dance clubs, the ocean, the mountains.

It sounds cliche but America... I've traveled to every state in the country with the exception of Alaska and this beautiful country never ceases to amaze me.

I don't watch much TV but I love going to the movies... it's my opiate when stressed and looking to escape.

A few favorite films are: The Notebook, The Illusionist, Shawshank Redemption, Titanic, Finding Forrester, Before Sunset, The Green Mile...

After years as a newspaper photojournalist I now work as an international photographer for Rustic Pathways. With Rustic I photograph and lead community service and adventure travel programs for high school students in 21 countries around the world.

I do not have any pets, but I do like them. I am very clean and clean up after myself as I go and take pride in how I maintain my belongings as well as others’.

That's me in a nutshell!
