We stayed in Laurens cute apartment over Easter 2014. It was small but very cozy, enough space for two persons. The location is great in the latin quarters, close to Rue Mouffetard and walking distance to Notre dame, perfect if you want to explore Paris! Lauren was very friendly and helpful, responded quickly to our questions. If going back to Paris we could definitely rent the apartment again.
Lauren's apartment was my first Air B&B experience, and the bar has been set high! I stayed here for a week by myself while doing research at various museums.
The apt is on a very quiet street--especially for Paris--and the area is busy enough that I didn't feel uncomfortable being out after dark--although you should always be alert! You do need to walk a few blocks to get to the metro, but I never found it inconvenient.
The apartment itself is indeed cozy and bookish. Perfect for one person, I wouldn't recommend it for two or more for longer than a few days. The bathroom is very small and the shower is tiny; it was ok for me, but, frankly, I'm thin and young. It is not a space older or larger persons would want to maneuver in, I think. Again, though, it was fine for me and my needs. Another FYI is that the apt is on the 5th floor French, 6th floor American, no elevator, spiral staircase. Again, no problem unless you have limited mobility or energy. Otherwise, just look at it as your daily cardio.
Kitchen is stocked with necessary cookery, wifi works great, bed sleeps really really well, building is well-maintained, provided linens were good, and the apartment itself was clean and well-kept (and this is coming from a neat-freak).
Lauren herself is lovely, very conscientious, mature, and thoughtful. And her library (which is the whole apt) is pretty darned spectacular. Lauren's instructions and arrangements were all spot on and made things super easy.
I will absolutely stay in Lauren's apartment again, and I was genuinely sad when I left it!
Lauren was a gracious hostess! She was easy to contact and was very accommodating. The apartment was exactly as advertised and in a great neighbourhood in Paris! She left fantastic instructions on how to get around in Paris, and she also took the time to leave recommendations on where to eat and what to do in the area. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and I look forward to returning!
We had a great stay at Lauren's cozy apartment. It's small, but packed with charm. Books everywhere, including a stack of useful guides for guests. Of course, our favorite nook was the little outdoor balcony. The apartment is nicely located in the Latin Quarter, a five minute walk from the beautiful Paris Mosque and just blocks away from the amazing market on Rue Mouffetard. It's also a quick walk to the Jardin des Plantes and Natural History Museum. The closest metro stop is five minutes away, so it's very easy to get other parts of Paris.
Lauren was a great host, ready with lots of great Paris recommendations and super easy to communicate with. She was extremely helpful when issues arose-- for us, it was getting locked out of the apartment once. Luckily, Lauren had already organized a system for getting a spare key beforehand. Though she was out of the country, she was quick to email us when she found out that we'd been locked out and continued to check up on us.
A perfect spot for someone looking for a place with personality and a location that feels more local than touristy.
A great place to stay in a great location in a great safe neighborhood! Easy access to a number of different subway lines to get anywhere in the city. Though, I barely used the subway, preferring instead to walk to most of the major attractions and neighborhoods on the left bank (about 5 minutes to rue Mouffetard; 25 minutes to Notre Dame or Montparnasse; 10-15 minutes to Luxembourg Gardens). The apartment itself is beautiful - clean, bright, airy, yes a bit small, but home-y. Lauren is a great host, very kind and responsive. I didn't want to leave!
Lovely small, charming and clean apartment. The host was super responsive.
Great location. The bathroom is TINY, but then again, we were ok with it for a week. Host's instructions were very precise and I highly recommend this place and this host, 5 stars. Although a little disclaimer, it's a 5 floor walk-up which was a bit inconvenient with my luggage. Other than that, fabulous!
Lauren's place was lovely. I was traveling by myself when I stayed in her charming apartment, and it was great that it was in a nice and safe location in Paris. It also was nice to see books and movies in English at her place after a long day of working on my French language skills. It was a bit of home when I was far away from it. The bathroom is tres petit but other than that, the apartment was wonderful! Lauren was also really good at getting back to me and answering questions I had, even though I did not meet her in person - she was very helpful. Overall a really nice place to stay!
Lauren's apartment was very small (like most in Paris), but comfortable. It would be considered more of a studio in the US although the bedroom was separate. There was a sofa in the living room, a coffee table, a dresser for our clothes and a small desk and chair. The kitchen, bathroom and bedroom were tiny, but the double bed was very comfortable. If you would want to cook, you might find the kitchen a challenge because of its size. There is a lovely terrace with a small table and chairs which over-looked the street; we had breakfast there most mornings as there is no table in the apartment on which to eat. The apartment is quiet (on a small side-street), very well-located and not far from the Luxembourg Gardens in the 5eme arrondisement; it has wifi. It is a 10 mins. walk to the Rue Mouffetard Market which has endless food shops and dining options, plus stores to browse. It's close to several different metro lines which took us to anyplace we wanted to go. We rented bicycles for 24 hrs. and confidently left them locked on the street for the night.
Lauren was in NYC, but when we had a problem getting into the building upon arrival, she responded quickly. The apartment is on what would be called the 6th floor in the US and was quite a hike up as there is no lift. All in all, it worked out fine for us, as we really were only there for breakfast and to sleep.
Lauren's apartment has a lot of character and warmth to it. It's a small cozy place, good for a couple or close family members! Her place is well-located on a quiet street and is close to the Mouffetard market. It was great to walk from there all over the city. I enjoyed the charming bakery down the street and it was close to grocery stores and many cafes and restaurants. The apartment has many books and a sound dock for your own ipod. There is an Nespresso machine too! The small kitchen is also nice. Lauren was a great host too! Highly recommended. I would go back.
The apartment is absolutely wonderful, located in an ideal area to see the true Paris instead of locating yourself near a tourist-trap. The apartment itself is small but has a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and small terrace to enjoy a bottle of wine or to people-watch. A very comfortable apartment for two, Lauren's place quickly becomes a home away from home.
Hôte agréable, bonne communication.
Lauren and her boyfriend were very easygoing and lovely guests and left the apartment in perfect condition - I´d be happy to accomodate them anytime in the future again.
I enjoyed hosting Lauren a lot! We had a great and easy communication throughout the process, and Lauren left the flat in perfect condition. Strongly recommended.
