The apartment is spacious and comfortable, as advertised. I mentioned to Antonio that the microwave needs to be changed (it stops working erratically) and it gets cold at night (suboptimal isolation). Overall a good experience.
Antonio's apartment was perfect for the week we were in NY. Checking in/out was extremely easy/flexible. The apartment was just as it appears in the photos. It's located 1 block from the subway which is extremely convenient. Overall great experience, would do it again! Thanks Antonio!
The description was exactly as it was on the site. Was indeed quite close to central and the neighbourhood was pleasant. Cute apartment with a fair few shops and restaurants located around. Subway station is not even 5 minutes away which was extremely handy to travel. I would definitely recommend Antonio's place to others travelling to New York. His aunt met in outside the apartment to explain all the ins and outs. She showed me around the place and gave me advice about travel, food and transport. I couldn't have asked for better help considering I have never been to New York before let alone America. Highly recommend.
My husband and i, stayed at Antonio's apartment for 11 nigths, during our trip to NYC. When we arrived, his aunt Rocio was waiting for us to show the apartment and let us know all the things we needed to know. Very welcoming and nice lady! But when we saw the place in the beggining, we were dissapointed. The apartment seems to be old(not shown in the pictures), with cracked ceiling, old wardrobes and cabinets with peeled paint and old bathroom fixtures. Also, the bed, which was king size and very comfortable, seemed that was ready to colapse in every move we made. The air condition in bedroom didn't work properly and some hot nights, although we turned it on, it was still hot!
Although those negative things, we had a nice stay in Antonio's apartment, because it was really close to A subway(express line) and it was very easy to move in the city. The neighbourhood made us feel safe, even the nights we got home late. Also, the apartment was very clean, no dust and smelt nice(small exception the curtains that were very dusty, they need to be washed), with clean sheets and towels. It is also sunny and nicely decorated, as shown in the pictures, with lots of space to move.
For Antonio, i can only say nice words and things. Very kind, helpful, responding quickly and willing to answer to any of our questions and considerations.
Conclusively, the apartment is much older than how it seems to be in the pictures but our stay was convinient, because of the cleanliness, the location close to subway station, the safe neighbourhood and the really helpful owner and his aunt!! Thanks Antonio and Rocio!
We loved this place!!! Antonio did a great job of describing all that this cute fully furnished apartment has to offer! From the moment I began inquiring about his apt. Antonio responded within the hour...even if I messaged him at all hours of the night! The neighborhood is nice and quiet and it is less than a block away from the subway! We feel that our trip to NYC was so amazing because we stayed here! With great food nearby and the city at our fingertips we played hard during the day and happily came back at night to our little piece of home! Thank you so very much Antonio!! :)
Clean & cozy. Nothing luxurious (as expected), but very nicely decorated. I felt right at home. Would definitely stay again!
Antonio's space in Washington Heights is super cute. The 1br/1ba apartment sits atop 5 flights of stairs, there is no elevator in the building. Good exercise. Not recommended for those with heart conditions or lack of patience.
The place was clean. The kitchen allowed for cooking, (gas range, empty but operating fridge, various spices and staples were provided). There are touches that say someone lives here, (magazines, interesting books, hats on the wall). It was nice. There is not a working TV or wi-fi. There is a fire escape that allows you to step out and look east to see some of the GW Bridge.
The bed is comfortable. Hangers were provided. The bathroom offered a few toiletries. The shower's water pressure was weird, but usable.
The only cons were the five floor walk up, (I can get lazy), lack of wi-fi, and a school that sits across the street. In theory one should be awake by the time school children hit their first recess, (9-ish?). That not always the case.
I would stay here again if I were in the area and needed a room. It is a good deal in NYC for an entire apartment and that made up for the paltry cons.
Thank you Antonio.
Antonio's apartment is simply one of the best options to stay in NYC, whether if you are staying a couple of nights or a couple of months. It is comfortable, quite, bright and very clean. The subway (A train, which takes you anywhere in the city) is very close (less than 1 minute walking) and you also have places to buy groceries and many other things. It is located in a very nice and safe neighborhood. I truly recommend it.
