Barry and I had a wonderful time . The room was awsome and it was so quiet there , The breakfast was wonderful on Sat and Sun the people are all so friendly. We would go back again and are going to in the future, thanks again..
What made this place special for Ted and me was Doug himself (Marika wasn't here when we visited). He had a warm fire burning in our suite by the time we arrived on a chilly April evening, and when we told him that we felt like cooking rather than going out to eat, he took the time to make sure the propane stove was working well. In the morning, he cooked a wonderful breakfast--a smoothie, and cake, and savory pancakes with two kinds of sauces, and sausage, and... even more than I can now recall. Then, because we asked, he showed us his studio and renovation projects... there was a quality to Doug's hospitality that quite transcended professional inn-keeping--genuineness, creativity, and entirely unpretentious warmth. There was, I thought, a similar quality to the lodging itself--no sterile perfection here (the stove was a little grubby, for instance), but rather a place that provides comfort, quiet , privacy, and beauty.
Marika and Doug are delightful people. We very much enjoyed meeting them both and hearing about their B & B in Pennsylvania. They were polite, relaxed, and completely charming guests. We would absolutely recommend them.
