We had the pleasure of staying at Patchwork Cottage for 3 lovely days while we visited Athlone. It was the perfect place to base ourselves, close the centre of the old town (castle, cruise docks, restaurants, etc) as wells providing a comfy, quirky & fun place to relax each evening. Mollie was so easy to communicate with in all aspects of the trip and helped add to our experience. If we're ever back in Athlone, we'll be seeing if Patchwork is available!!
Thank you so much for your stay, I will be delighted to host you and your family if you are ever back in athlone again
The Patchwork Cottage was a comfortable place to stay for a week with everything that we needed. The kitchen was great for cooking meals in. There were plenty of maps and brochures provided. The location was in walking distance to stores and pubs and major attractions like the castle. There was even a walking trail just down the street. All in all, our stay in Athlone was very pleasant.
Thank you so much for your stay, I am delighted that you had a nice time in athlone and wish you well on your onward adventures
Nice place within walking distance from town center. Mollie was very helpful even though we talked only through messages.
Staying in The Patchwork Cottage nearly felt like staying in a friend's house. We arrived too late to actually meet Mollie but she had left us a welcome note and some treats to help us enjoy our stay. The cottage is so quirky and really homely and was absolutely perfect for our weekend in Athlone. Loads of parking right outside the door and a quick walk in to the town centre= great value for money.
We stayed for 2 days in Mollies fine house. It was a great pleasure to stay in her house. We didn't see Molloe but see take care for us to collect the key with a friend. It was nice and easy to stay with her.
Thank you Winnie, it was a pleasure to have you stay.
The cottage was very clean and in a great location. It was very well suited for guests with a folder outlining everything guests needed to know and where to find things. The welcome hamper was very thoughtful!
We did not meet Mollie personally, but she did leave a welcome pack and the house was as described. The house was clean and comfortable throughout as well as been centrally located. We enjoyed our stay and would hope to return. Thank you Mollie.
Thank you Fergal, I hope to welcome you again in the future.
This was our 2nd time staying in the Patchwork Cottage and it almost felt like returning home we enjoyed our stay so much. The sunroom was a welcome addition even in its unfinished state and should be wonderful upon completion. Mollie's cottage was equipped with everything we could possibly need and if you are considering a stay in Athlone we would highly recommend it.
It was lovely to have you back a second time, hope to see you again soon
Very responsive, cottage was spacious and well stocked. Great location for exploring the rest of Ireland!
The cottage was clean and ready for me when I arrived, and it was easy to find the place to collect the key (just around the corner - very handy!). Parking was available right outside the door. There's no number on the door but it's easy to work out that it's the one after 7!! Conveniently located just 5 minutes into the town centre, Athlone Castle, the Gallery, Sean's Bar (oldest bar in Ireland!) and whatever else you need. I was able to pick up a bus tour to Cliffs of Moher which included The Burren. The Dublin Tour Company were excellent and collected me from Applegreen (a servo just 7 Euro by cab) and dropped me back afterwards. The driver and guide, Antony, was amazing with his knowledge. Give them a go if you're thinking of doing it. I met with Edel (Mollie's mum) for a coffee - thanks Edel. It was lovely to meet you. The Patchwork Cottage is reasonably priced, they provide all sorts of bits and pieces (and treats!). Thanks Mollie & Edel!
