Daltons place is in the perfect spot, it's walking distance from the boardwalk at the beach and 5 mins from the beach. The place was clean when I entered and was stocked of everything you needed including a little food for when we came home late n needed some nutrients. Dalton is in the service as am I and even gave me a military discount. He was a gracious host, and my group had a blast hanging out at his condo. It easily fit 6 people with room to spare and my friends n I would stay there anytime I end up in Myrtle Beach
In an effort to stay away from the three star hotels on the beach, we ended up with a two star apartment. Location was good and neighborhood seemed safe for the family.
Apartment was dirty to the point we cleaned before we unpacked - it was clear it was surfaced cleaned and never really cleaned - wife rewashed sheets after finding hair and we never used anything in the kitchen. There were candy wrappers on the bathroom floor.
Dalton was very helpful and communicative during setup and beginning of stay, but when we informed him that the stove was nonfunctional, we never heard back from him - it was clear the stove had been out of commission for a while by the freezer full of frozen pizzas - we left two.
Covered the ceiling-mounted webcam in the living room with a sock upon arrival - I can the cam's purpose for a offsite owner, but felt uncomfortable during our stay.
Overall we were disappointed.
Overall, I would rate this apartment at 1 star. It was dirty upon arrival. We found dirty, sticky dishes in the kitchen cabinets, food particles in the sink, a dirty coffee pot, black dirt stains in the shower, fluid stains on the suede couch (I refused to sit on it), tufts of hair in the bathrooms, and black hairs between the "fresh" bed linen (thank God we brought our own!). I was so disgusted by the dirt and grime that we drove to Walmart the first night to purchase cleaning products so that I could feel more comfortable staying there. In fact, I wore my flip flops every time I took a shower because the bath tub was so dirty. Thankfully we brought our own towels because the towels provided had someone else's hair on them. In addition, we found unflushed feces in the spare room bathroom...
There was a note on the refrigerator that stated the oven did not work and that the kitchen stool had loose legs. That was an understatement. The legs immediately snapped off as soon as I sat on it and luckily I did not get hurt. Dalton was very responsive to our questions upon arrival, but this did not last. He informed us that he would come to replace the oven while we were there. We did not hear from him until the day before our departure when he said "I meant to message you about my trip to Mrytle Beach. It didn't work out".
In the kitchen there was a door in front of the air conditioning unit. We saw water on the floor and realized that the AC unit was leaking. There were no plates in the kitchen except for Styrofoam ones, which obviously don't do well with hot food... I was eating melted styrofoam with my eggs for breakfast.
This apartment needs to be professionally cleaned. It was surface cleaned by the previous renters, but that was it.
We felt very uncomfortable with the webcam mounted to the ceiling in the living room. My boyfriend ended up turning it around.
Lastly and perhaps the most disturbing to me was the disgusting condom filled drawer in the nightstand beside the bed in the master room. We found this on the last day... I would not have stayed in that room had it been the first night.
The good things about the apartment? Dalton's assistant got us a new battery so that we could turn on the living room lights and fan. Also, the apartment wasn't far from the beach.
If you were wondering why the pictures are all blurry on the listing for this apartment, you now know why.
Dalton was helpful and quick to answer any questions that I had. The condo was walkable to Broadway at the Beach, and just a short drive to the beach. We had trouble getting into the gate at first with the number that we were told to call, but there were no problems after that. There was plenty of room for our group of 7 people!
