I fill my time at home with cooking, painting and music and outside of that I can be found on the map somewhere between Texas and North Carolina.

I stayed at Baxter's while in town for a conference being held downtown. Baxter was super accommodating of my various travel needs/issues and gave me a warm welcome when I arrived. The house itself is in a great location - close to South Congress, supermarkets, coffee, etc. The house also has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including, my favorite, a record player. It was so nice to walk back to the house from my conference and decompress by cooking dinner and listening to records. The bed was extremely comfortable, too! I slept like a rock when I was here - better than at home! I had the opportunity to talk with Baxter in person a few times during my stay and she's super cool, funny, and helpful. I would totally recommend her house if you're in the area.
Baxter's Magnolia Bee Home was a cute, cosy place to stay. She had everything you would need prepared. It is within walking distance to many eateries, very convenient to other parts of town in Charlotte. Quiet, friendly and safe neighbourhood.
Baxter was also very flexible, quick to respond, and I would recommend my friends to stay here the next time they come to Charlotte!
Baxter's place was great! As far as the house goes, it was clean, well-kept, had a real retro-hip feel to it. Loved her record player and all the different varieties of music she had. Bed was comfortable, shower was soothing (loved the bathroom). Kitchen was fully stocked but I didn't use it. The location was great! Located in SoFi area, a short walk from a lot of cool retaurants and food trucks and a few blocks away from all the fun and food on South Congress (definitely walkable). The host was very helpful and kind. Went out of her way to show me where the iron was when I needed it. Overall, an awesome Airbnb experience!
Baxter is so, very helpful and the Magnolia Bee is even better.
We had a large group of students on a service trip to Charlotte. Our group arrived pretty early and Baxter was still in the process of getting the house ready for us. Since none of us were native Charlotteans- She made suggestions on places we could go eat/sightsee while we were waiting and checked in on us regularly since we were having car issues, etc. There were some slight issues with the oven and Baxter was SO responsive and immediately worked everything out. She is very helpful and responds to all texts/phone-calls/emails/etc. We were very happy with our stay and will be back soon! Thanks Baxter!
Magnolia Bee is in the perfect location! The neighbors are wonderful (one even lent us sugar to bake cookies and offered to cook our group dinner!!) It is about a 5-7 minute walk from Starbucks, rooftop bars, Dairy Queen, and some of the best restaurants in town! We barely drove bc everything is walking distance from the house. There is a beautiful backyard area equipped and ready for any outdoor activities and is enclosed and large enough to run around. The bathrooms are both clean and Baxter had everything we needed (towels, soap, etc.). There were also snacks and small things for cooking as well! The house is the perfect size for a small group (5-8) and very, very cozy. We spent A LOT of time on the porch and were easily able to have large group dinners in the living room. There is also plenty parking area! Baxter also left multiple sets of keys so there wasn't a problem with a bigger group.
Baxter was very helpful and attentive to the needs that we had this past week, and the home provided the perfect space for our group. The home is very charming and in an amazing part of town, so there are tons of great places to eat, as well as some neat parks and areas to walk to. Thanks a ton -- we are so thankful to have found you!
My little sister got married last week in Charlotte, NC. With 3 sisters, one sister in law, and several friend all living out of town finding a place and a time for a bachelorette night proved difficult. Thankfully after much searching we found Magnolia Bee. Baxter was very hospitable and generously let us stay for just one night (a ton of work for her with all of the linens in use)!!! The space was so much better than we'd imagined. We walked in to set up and one of my sisters said, "I just want to be Baxter's friend, her house is wonderful". It was a wonderful night of celebrating my sister and getting excited with her about her pending marriage. Thank you Baxter for providing us the perfect space to do that. It was truly a gift!
Baxter was a great host. She was quick to respond to my emails or text if I had any questions. Her home was inviting and cozy with a wonderful vintage feel. My friends and I had a great time there and would definitely stay again while we were in Charlotte.
The Magnolia Bee is beautiful and we enjoyed the comfy space!
Just one warning - if you are a light sleeper then this house is not for you. It's about 100 yards to the train crossing, and by law trains have to sound their horn for between 15 and 20 seconds as they approach. No problem for myself as a heavy sleeper but my wife was woken several times a night by the trains going through.
This aside, Baxter's house is in a fantastic location, is spacious, clean and well provisioned. It is an older property but well maintained and warm. It's only a ten minute walk / 2 minute drive east to the large local shops (including Starbucks and a Supermarket) or a two minute walk west to another Starbucks, convenience store and several restaurants. It's only a ten minute drive into the centre of Charlotte and all key attractions. The one issue we had during our stay was with the WiFi dropping out. Baxter immediately got onto it, having the AT&T technician there at 8am the next morning. As it turned out the problem wasn't even with the property but was at a junction box down the street. The WiFi was fixed by early afternoon. Baxter is a great host and very responsive when anything needed addressing. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to visit Charlotte provided the trains aren't a problem.
Great house. Very cute with large backyard. Easy walk to food trucks and 2 blocks to the #10 bus that will have you downtown in a few minutes. Baxter was very helpful pointing out places to see in Austin.
Baxter and her finacee, her poodle mushroom, and their lovely bunny were awesome! Very personable, lovely people, and just a joy to host. I would gladly host them again in a heartbeat, and I hope they consider us their home away from home, next time they are in Austin. :)
Baxter and her partner were great guests, checking in early and then taking off and see a bit of Savannah. They were on their way to Texas and stopped at Los Robles for the night. I did not see them much but am assured they had a good stay. Richard
It was a pleasure meeting and hosting Baxter, a fellow airbnb community member! And just as I suspected, everything was in excellent condition upon her departure. This was an ideal experience. Hope to see Baxter again!
