I fill my time at home with cooking, painting and music and outside of that I can be found on the map somewhere between Texas and North Carolina.

We had a great stay at the Strawberry Cottage! It is within walking distance to great restaurants and shops on S. Congress.
Baxter was great. Accommodating with our check in time and she checked in with us during our stay to see if we needed anything.
I saw an older review saying there was no TV, but there is one in the living room. We stayed there with our 2 sons who liked watching cartoons in the morning.
Baxter is awesome! She was great at keeping in touch before our trip and was there to welcome us and show us the house which was nice and clean. Great kitchen with everything you need. Comfy beds. Nice back yard with table and chairs. The street is very quiet, and only short walk to South Congress and all the restaurants, shops and bars. It was perfect. I think the best part was Baxter's amazing record collection. My friends and I spent a lot of time sitting in the living room, listening to music, it was great! Would totally stay there again or recommend to a friend!
Great spot in a great location - welcoming and cozy. The weather in Charlotte was awful the week I stayed, which was a shame as I would have enjoyed sitting out in the back yard. Walking distance to Harris Teeter Supermarket and restaurants/shops.
The neighborhood is a collection of 1920's era bungalows, and Baxter's place retains its vintage charm. The freight train does go through a few times during the night, but it didn't bother me and I'm a pretty light sleeper.
Baxter was a great and responsive host -- when I was stranded on my last day because of weather cancellations at the airport, she made it easy to arrange another night. Hope to come back when the sun is out !
We had a fantastic stay in Baxter's home. We had a lot of complications with our incoming flights and Baxter was easy to get in touch with and very flexible about how to get us the key. Once we did arrive, the house was perfect! It's in a great location and was the perfect place to stay for a weekend exploring Austin. I would definitely stay here on another trip to Austin.
Had a great stay at the Magnolia Bee! Really appreciated your responsiveness and all the recommendations you gave us! Would definitely stay again.
I booked this place at the last possible moment. Baxter was so friendly and accommodating!
Her home is quaint, cozy and clean.
Close to the eclectic Plaza Midwood neighborhood with bars and restaurants within walking distance.
We had a wonderful weekend there!
I would definitely book this place again.
Our group of four thoroughly enjoyed staying at Baxter's place for the weekend! She is an incredibly friendly host who has done a great job turning the house into a fantastic little getaway. Music lovers will surely enjoy spinning some vinyl late at night or rocking the Wurly with friends. :)
I was in Austin and needed a place for the night, while for the other properties 12 hour notice was too short, Baxter accommodated us with only 6 hour notice, YES 6 HOURS!!!
In pictures I noticed the old record player, I had to look again, yes it was there, I was sold. Baxter met us at the place and told us not only about the property but also about things to do. The location is amazing, it is within a walking distance from everything, restaurants, bars, food trucks, you name it.
After an evening of walking around we listened to the the record player and did not turned on the tv or though about it the whole time we were there.
6 star experience!!!
The Magnolia Bee is a cute quaint house in Elizabeth. Walking distance to great bars like Soul Gastro lounge and the Common Market. Half a mile from a nice Harris Teeter. Nicely painted rooms and hard wood floors. 10 minute drive from the Blumenthal center down town. We were nice and toasty during cold snap in Charlotte this February. I would describe this place as homey, cozy and comfortable. Baxter even shared the food in the pantry with us! We're also artists so we were excited about the guitars and the electric organ.
Two things to mention: 1. Even though everything is clean and works, the appliances are not new.
2.Baxter was mostly good at checking on us, but at one point a fuse blew in the back wall of the kitchen, which meant no power back there... so no electric starter for the stove. We told Baxter about the stove/ blown fuse, but no response, not sure why. However, we're a resourceful bunch and used matches to light the gas stove and really had no problems.
Overall- a good stay!
Oh so good!!
Perfect cosy home for 4 of us.
Amazing location...a quick walk to the 24 hour magnolia cafe...bars, restaurants, live music all within walking distance.
SoCo is a great neighborhood that honors and respects local business.
We had a great escape and Baxter was super easy to communicate with and made the experience very easy.
Enjoyed meeting Baxter & her Fiancee! They were great gusts & we would be happy to host them in the future!
Baxter and her finacee, her poodle mushroom, and their lovely bunny were awesome! Very personable, lovely people, and just a joy to host. I would gladly host them again in a heartbeat, and I hope they consider us their home away from home, next time they are in Austin. :)
Baxter and her partner were great guests, checking in early and then taking off and see a bit of Savannah. They were on their way to Texas and stopped at Los Robles for the night. I did not see them much but am assured they had a good stay. Richard
It was a pleasure meeting and hosting Baxter, a fellow airbnb community member! And just as I suspected, everything was in excellent condition upon her departure. This was an ideal experience. Hope to see Baxter again!
