I like to cook, read, travel, and do yoga (when I'm not full, in the middle of a book, or jetlagged). I'm originally from Fairbanks, Alaska, where my parents had a bed and breakfast for most of my childhood-- so I can appreciate what it means to have a random traveler in your home.
I went to school at MIT and the Unversity of Washington, where I received a Ph.D. in experimental and computational neuroscience in 2010. I currently live in Munich and work at the Technical University as a neuroscience postdoctoral researcher. My fiance Alex (fellow neuroscientist and travel partner) have enjoyed exploring Europe over the last two years and have had a number of great experiences using AirBnB.
I'm not much of a group person (though I do like to go out dancing on occasion), but I love to talk with people individually--I think my acquaintances would say I am shy and quiet, but my friends would say I am energetic and prone to ranting about all sorts of topics.
I also love animals and have three cats.
In terms of a being a guest, I am very respectful of the space, time, and energy of other people. I am also tidy. I do keep rather late/odd hours (and I have been known to explore strange cities by night), but I am very quiet overall.
Thanks for reading my profile!
