I work for Environment Canada as an Environmental Assessment Coordinator so most of my days are spent connecting scientists and industry together to make better projects. I have been doing this for 7 years now and the pace and style of work keeps changing.
Outside of the office, I am a student at Simon Fraser University doing a Graduate degree in Liberal Studies. I do it primarily because I love to learn and Liberal Studies offers me an experience I couldn't get from a professional/academic graduate degree. My friends have said that I'm wasting my money but I don't know if they really understand the joy I get out of this program and the richness of my world now that I'm a student again. Other people spend thousands on hockey game tickets and experience joy just the same.
I suppose I could say I'm well-read since I read a lot of books as a result of school and I'm nerdy because I've trained as a scientist, professionally.
As a traveler, I'm easy going. Hey, I'm on vacation so I don't have to be in my little safety bubble anymore.
Unfortunately, I live in a relatively small apartment outside of Vancouver so I don't know if I would be good at hosting. Maybe I can learn from the people I stay with!
