Hi my name is Valentine ,
I love guests to see our lovely house and enjoy lovely shropshire countryside
Our host contacted me and explained several things before our journey. Unfortunately it rained the entire time and therefore we were not able to judge the area.
Valentine is a great host- communication was excellent and it was great that they went to the trouble of putting in a few Christmas decorations for our family get-together.
The listings accurately show the beauty of the location, & the spectacular, large conservatory - which is where we spent nearly all our time - was perfect for our needs, although, with the only heating being the powerful woodburner, it took a while to get it warm enough to use each day. The property is homely and rather quirky, so it suits families very well (esp. with the dishwasher). We visited in winter and it was much too wet & cold to use the garden, but the views were fantastic. Small children would definitely need supervision. To be honest, the high price and beautiful pictures did give us expectations of luxury, but we loved our time at the house and would definitely consider going again.
Wow! Whan an amazing home in an amazingly beautiful area!
The house was so warm and welcoming and the facilities were perfect!
Valentine was extremely accomodating and we could not have had a better stay! Thank you!!!
Great pre-arrival communication from Valentine.
House is in a great location, nice walks nearby and lovely views.
We stayed over a mild October weekend. Temperature of the main house was fine, but summer house really needed the wood burner running all the time to use as it had a single skin plastic conservatory roof.
House was fully equipped and bedding towels were clean, though on two of the single beds upstairs the children complained of the springs that could be easily felt through the mattresses.
There was only a single shower room/toilet downstairs which was tight for 2 families, but water was always warm, ( though strangely no taps on the sink )
In summary it was a great location and size for two families with children and Valentine was very good to deal with and the general lived in condition meant we could relax with the children and the dog, but on the downside we paid near £800 for two nights, which in hindsight was about £200-300 too much.. It possibly would have helped had we stayed in summer when we would have made better use of the garden and the temperature in the summerhouse wouldn't have been such an issue.
I'm glad that these guys loved the house ,it is a lovely space with incredible views. The wetroom downstairs has a lower holder for the showerhead over the si
The house was stunning - photos don't do it justice! We cooked a group meal for 10 on the Saturday evening, and there was every kind of pot/pan/cooking utensil you could have wished for.
Valentine was a great host, calling to ensure that everything was sorted before and after we arrived.
Would definitely come again and have recommended the house to friends and family.
Had regular contact with Valentine before we arrived at the house and everything was as expected, and a few extra touches that were nice: flowers, eggs, tea, coffee, bread, cake etc.
House itself is beautiful, we comfortably slept 11, and the summer house in particular with its large dining table and french doors opening out onto a wonderful view of the opposite hillside was our favourite feature.
Great garden and really nice part of the country, a few nice walks from the house up to the top of the Clun hill. We also went to Bridgnorth on the way home, and would recommend it for some great pubs.
Valentine very kindly liaised with the first couple to arrive and left us fresh flowers and some food. The house is a bit dated but wonderfully quirky. We used the kitchen/diner/extension the most and kept ourselves warm with the log burner. The three main bedrooms we used were very comfortable. We were blessed with sunny weather but I can imagine the house might get a bit cold in winter.
Valentine's house is a charming and great launching pad for walks in the surrounding country. The house inside is fully equipped with all the basic necessities to spend a few days in relative isolation, with a couple of very nice bedrooms. We particularly enjoyed the chance to watch movies on the projector. We were a party of six and stayed there over New Year's Eve for a total of three nights. The house was a bit cold when we arrived as it probably had not been used for a few weeks. We had the fire and the heating on immediately which eventually kept us warm. Unfortunately we were not able to use the shower downstairs as frost did affect its functioning.
Nevertheless we had a jolly time. This is a place I would recommend if you want to spend time away from the city and in the midst of beautiful countryside.
Beautiful house, lovely warm room with comfy bed, fantastic views. Valentine and Radovan were absolutely lovely and made me extremely welcome, I had a great evening with them. Thoroughly recommended!
We had a relaxing time. The house has lots of character and was suitable for our large group. The views from the summer house and garden are beautiful.
Valentine and her family have a long tradition as airbnb hosts. This means they perfectly understand which behaviours can be appreciated by a host. That's probably why they are perfect guests too.
