Tomas has been a delight. Although he has not stayed here, he has set up all the arrangements for his mother and aunt to stay here in my apt. He had made it clear to me that their English was minimal in order to prepare me. With the little bit of German I have retained from my past studies, and with their minimal English, we have fared well, and even been able to laugh together. And so communication has gone quite well, with many moments of giggling over mis-interpretations. In fact, during their ten-day stay here, we have managed to have satisfying and amusing encounters. And if ever there were further clarifications to make clear, Tomas was always there to facilitate via internet or telephone.
Tomas, a university student here in Vancouver, has been most respectful and considerate towards me during their stay. This is a well-bred, well-educated young man who has already travelled widely, and who knows how life is outside a former Communist-block country, and how to adapt himself to other cultures in general. Tomas is a lovely and gracious young man who would make himself a fine guest in any situation, as do his mother and aunt who have stayed with me over the last 10 days. I am so pleased that Tomas has chosen my place to have his family gain a sense of the West Coast of Canada, and all of its wonders. He has been a fine son, and a fine sponsor.
A very pleasant and easy going guy, he was a thoughtful house guest.
Tomas and his girlfriend were very nice and very respectful. We spent some time together and it was great to share our culture. If i had the opportunity to see them again i would!
