At no point did we say we were four plus a child,
here is the extract from our message to the host where we discuss our children
“I understand you have limited
reservations to a maximum of 4 person but our children, a 9 year old and two 3
year olds would normally share a double bed so your apartment looks ideal for
us because it has the two beds”
It is true that on arrival we were late due to traffic
approaching Paris (we did try several times to contact the host but we could
not get hold of him but left a message) and because of this the concierge did
have to wait for us to arrive but on our departure we left the concierge 20
Euros and explained to her it was to compensate her for the hour she waited for
us to arrive on Friday.
We believe there is nothing wrong with the television and
it is just the simple fact that the concierge does not know how to turn it on
properly, which was the case when she was checking us into the apartment.
On our departure we were checked out by the concierge who
appeared happy and in fact commented on how thorough we had been cleaning the
apartment, in fact her exact words were ‘très méticuleux’, we
signed an inventory to say that everything was in order and we left. However,
the concierge then went on to report back to the host that the apartment had
been left in a horrendous mess, sending what we can only assume to be falsified
photographs as evidence. It has now come to light that the concierge is
responsible for cleaning the apartment and therefore profited directly from any
additional cleaning duties and it is our understanding that she received the
100 Euros, a charge that was forwarded on to us.
When we left all the beds were stripped and all sheets
and towels used were folded neatly and left either on the beds or in the
bathroom. We emptied and removed all rubbish bins from the apartment and put
them in the appropriate communal bin down stairs. All kitchen utensils and
crockery that we used were washed in the washing machine and replaced back into
the appropriate cupboards, all floors and surfaces were swept and wiped down,
absolutely nothing was left out of place.
We are satisfied that we behaved respectfully and
honestly. We can only hope that should the host
ever discover the truth, he has the decency to retract his negative review.
