Hello we are, Jim & Sue, who live in a beautiful home within two acres of land. We live in one of the most beautiful parts of the Algarve. Our home overlooks a valley and we see hills and valley's all around. Its a great place to explore. We can provide information if you are a walker or cyclist. The rooms are comfortable and have private bathrooms.
We have olive and carob trees and grow our own vegetables. The closest town is Tavira, which is about 6 km away. The sea is about the same distance.
We are a relaxed couple with lots of interests, including reading, singing (Jim), tennis, yoga and gardening. We are both computer savvy.
We both love books.
Sue paints and writes. We are use to people in the house and enjoy having people stay as we have had many workaways helping us in the garden. You can see the great reviews of us on workaway http://www.workaway.inf(phone number hidden)d3-en.html
Well....What can we say about about our experience .We arrived in the Algarve for 2 weeks with Jim and Sue but to be honest could have stayed all winter.Their hospitality was second to none.Their place was in tranquil surroundings, beautiful views and friendly people. We felt like one of the family only after a few days. They fed us with fantastic food and took us to all manner of places. If you get the chance to help these guys out with their home jump at the chance.(you wont regret it).Left feeling we have made 2 good friends and will pop in to see them on our way through to Spain.
I stayed here for a month, gardening and doing some housework, and I had a great and nourishing time. My application was a bit of a last minute thing and it was great how Sue and Jim allowed arrangements to be made quickly. They made me feel so welcome right from the off and of course their luxurious home and beautiful setting helped! They have varied grounds and interesting plans (and a fantastic view) and they’re very open to sharing their knowledge and hearing your ideas. I felt very trusted to get on with the tasks and to take initiative to do whatever I could see was needed.
This of course was when I wasn’t busy recovering after eating the glorious and plentiful food! Both hosts are great cooks and we ate like emperors. Time off was also great with our hosts taking us out on trips to local events and the attractions of the area; there are bikes to borrow, village with a quaint bar nearby, Tavira within easy range is attractive and has a fantastic beach, and the hosts have loads of ideas and help on things to do. The month was full of lovely experiences – I haven’t yet got over being able to blog whilst relaxing by the pool, and enjoyed among many other things, planting my first potatoes, building a stone circle and enjoying the company of the other workawayers that came along. I thoroughly recommend Sue and Jim as hosts!
There are many more great reviews. As we enjoyed having workaways we thought we would offer B&B.
