I love to take advantage of what this beautiful island has to offer. I enjoy traveling, cooking and hiking the awesome mountain ranges of Hawaii.

The condo was everything you would expect from the description. Wonderful views right on the beach. Step out the front door to watch the sun rise and sit on the lanai to watch some of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see. Hokulani was wonderful and responded to any questions very promptly. And the condo had everything you could want or need. It is less than an hours drive from all of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. This is the only way to stay in Hawaii.
We had a wonderful & relaxing vacation at Hokulani's place. The beach is just gorgeous and so peaceful. Her apartment is clean & well maintained...everything we needed were provided. We didn't get to meet Hokulani, but she was courteous and provided prompt communication. We would LOVE to come back and stay at her place again!
Note - like others have said, if you want to hang out in Waikiki/Honolulu area, this place is little inconvenient. This was the perfect place for us since we wanted to be away from the busy area.
Location! Location! Location! It's right on the beach as the picture shows! It may be far (well far means 1hr+ drive) from other attractions like North shore or Waikiki but it's really a relaxing place.
Family friendly and away from crowded areas of Oahu which is a great plus.
The condo and building were safe, quiet and clean. We found the condo comfortable and spacious for us and our two young kids. Good water pressure and comfortable beds and linens. Hoku was very helpful whenever we had questions and responded right away. The beach was beautiful and you could not get a better view of it and a perfect sunset. The area is rustic and is definately not commercialized or touristy. I actually enjoyed hearing the roosters in the morning from the nearby country homes. The waves were too strong for young kids so they just enjoyed the waves coming up the sand and played in the sand dunes. We saw many over 10yrs-old kids and adults belly surfing and snorkelling everyday. The drive to any other points on the island are min. 1-2 hours away. We rented a car and explored the north shore, Kailua beach, lanikai beach, Waikiki, downtown Honolulu and the aquarium.
Very comfortable condo with a fantastic location on a quiet beach near Makaha. Incredible views from the balcony - some of the best sunsets I've ever seen and an occasional whale or two in the distance. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed in bedroom. In a quiet area of Oahu (not too many restaurants or bars nearby). Great security and easy check-in. I wish I could have stayed longer.
We had a great time in Hokulani's apartment! The view of the bay was incredible. Every morning we would walk across the beach to a rock outcropping and take a little hike to get a view of the bay and the ocean. In the afternoon we would watch the surfers and body boarders who would come every day. Both beds were very comfortable and we felt there was enough room for four people. Hokulani was great: I emailed her that I couldn't find a knife and that the toaster was malfunctioning. Like magic, a new toaster and knife set appeared on the doorstep in the morning. We liked the security of the gate and building. The building tenants and staff were friendly. If you don't mind staying a little further from the city, do yourself a favor, save thousands of dollars (Disney for the same time period was over $4k) and stay here! With our rental car, we had no problem exploring the entire island. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
My partner and I had a lovely time staying in the condo at Makaha. The view is every bit as impressive as the photos, and we were treated to some incredible sunsets over the ocean. The beach was quiet, eye-catching and good for swimming, with decent sized waves but not too huge.
There's not much in walking distance so having a car was a plus for us, and the building has a secure parking lot (plus self service laundry which was very useful). We easily did day trips to the North Shore (about 50 min drive) and around the island, and we found Makaha friendly, real and a nice counterpoint to Waikiki, plus it had far less traffic! The condo itself had lots of space and it came well equipped, including full cooking equipment (there's a good supermarket 5 mins drive away) plus cable and DVD player for some nice evenings in. Check in was extremely easy thanks to Hoku's instructions and she was very helpful.
I loved loved my stay here!!! Amazing view condo has everything you need! Such a quiet private beach!!! I stayed 4 nights and 3 at the tourist area! Biggest regret all beaches are full of tourist and traffic sucks! Staying in this condo and being able to explore Hawaii all on our own was the best! Waking up to the sound of the ocean was amazing!!! I totally recommend for you to stay here! Host is super nice and helpful! The beach there is a bit rusty and waves are strong but if you drive 5 m up you'll find another beach for your kids! I plan to come back one day :) thank you!
Awesome place to stay. View is amazing, and the beach was almost empty. I would recommend it for everyone who wants to see the real thing and not the crowded Waikiki.
The studio was amazing. It looks exactly like on the photos. The apartment has everything you need and the view is overwhelming. The accommodation is perfect for everyone who doesn't want to explore the touristic side of Honolulu and Waikiki, but the real O'ahu. It was really wonderful.
Hokulani was a wonderful guest, I highly recommend her! Aloha.
Hoku and her husband were great guests. They are kamanina (locals) and took great care of four place.
I loved their flexibility. They are welcome back.
