I am a long-time computer consultant and also collect and sell books. I am a quiet sort of night person, very easygoing as a host, and I love (and provide) good fresh coffee.
Roomy and quite place to stay at. Easy access and walkable distance to may places on Hawthorne, Belmont. and Division.
Debra is the perfect host and her listing is the perfect place for laid-back Portland. She is very accessible and informative. The space is clean and comfortable and quiet. Great supermarkets, restaurants, coffee bars and people watching are just a short stroll away on Hawthorne. I had a very pleasant stay.
This is a wonderful low-budget option, especially because it's in a TERRIFIC neighborhood (one of my favorites in PDX) -- you can walk to everything from Powell's (...the Hawthorne store...) to the Mt. Tabor nature preserve.
The room is large and comfortable, and I appreciated the heavy curtain that hangs to separate the bed area from the rest of the room. Wifi was great, as was having laundry facilities. There's not as much privacy as I'd hoped for -- the bathroom isn't attached to the room, but adjacent (in the laundry area) -- but Debra is very thoughtful about when she comes down to do laundry during your stay.
Debra's place is in a great part of Portland, her room is absolutely massive and you have all the privacy you could want. She's also lovely and very accommodating, I'd love to stay there again (it was just another thing that helped me fall in love with Portland and the people there!).
Debra was such a fantastic host! The listing was clean and well taken care of, in a nice quiet neighborhood but not far from the best restaurants and bars in Portland. She explained everything very thoroughly, and was readily available for any questions I had. :) I absolutely recommend staying with her!
I had a very nice stay at Debra's. The bathroom and bedroom were newly remodeled. It was quiet and comfortable. Close to everywhere I needed to go. Would gladly stay there again. Marie
I stayed at Debra's apartment in Portland for several nights and had a fantastic time. The Belmont neighborhood is brilliant, filled with cafes, great food and awesome bars. Furthermore, the place was only a short walk from Hawthorne street, which was filled with great shops and places to eat. The apartment was clean and spacious, with all the living essentials supplied (fridge, dresser, bathroom etc). Debra was a lovely host, and made sure I had everything I needed, and I would highly recommend staying at her place if you are travelling to Portland!
Debra is the perfect host.
Her basement room is big and well organized. And you have your own completely privacy.
The house is located in a lovely neighborhood and you're just 20 minutes away from downtown.
This is the best airbnb accomodation that I've ever been!
I had a great trip to Portland and Debra's hospitality helped.
The house is located in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Portland. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. There were fresh pastries and coffee available in the kitchen.
Debra was a groovy host and didn't mind my coming in late on the weekend nights. She also made the laundry facilities available which is very helpful for light travelers.
But my favorite part of the experience was the fresh flowers in the room. A beautiful arrangement of reds and oranges, very nice.
Debra was so sweet! She made it very easy for me to get from the airport to the house, provided a clean and comfortable room, laundry use, parking, breakfast, and wonderful company :) She even got up early to make me coffee and had long chats with me. The mess downstairs didn't bother me one bit because my room and the shared bathroom were quite clean. This is a fantastic place to stay at a very reasonable price!
Debra was great. Easy to communicate with and left the place nice and clean. Definitely recommend hosting her.
Deborah was sick the whole time she stayed with me, I wish I could make her feel better but alas no luck
Debra's apartment in Seattle is in a really great location, so close to UW, and she is really nice host! There's a movie theater and a really good tapas restaurant right across the street from the building, and a market and convenience stores within a block or so. Debra has this apartment in Seattle and also has a place in Portland that I've stayed; her Portland place is a really old Victorian house and is with a very cozy and comfy room.
