this was our first airbnb stay, and it was easy and enjoyable. the bed, pillows, and leather couches were very comfortable. there was enough separation between the bedroom and living room so that one of us could sleep comfortably while the other took care of our 7 month old in the other space. parking west of broadway, as thomas suggested, was always easy -- even though we rented a denali! close enough to walk to lake michigan -- even though it was 16 degrees and snowing! we'll definitely look to stay here again the next time we're in chicago.
My wife and I were visiting Chicago to see our son perform in a play. Hotels in Andersonville and the surrounding areas are difficult to find. We found Thomas' apartment on Airbnb. What a pleasant surprise! The apartment was conveniently located just a few blocks from the lake. It was clean and very well equipped. So much more room than a hotel room. We had a kitchen, living room with large screen TV, bedroom, and bathroom. We just made ourselves at home. Unfortunately, we never ran into Thomas. I guess both our schedules were just hectic at the time. We certainly know where we want to stay for our next visit. Hope we are invited back!
Great apartment, exactly as advertised. A little bit of apartment noise at night, but used a sleep sound app on my phone and slept very well. MUCH better than a hotel - comfortable bed, functional kitchen, nice big living room. Well decorated and very convenient to public transportation.
Great location and perfect place for two persons. The attention to detail in the site is really super. Well decorated. Quiet. Block to grocery and Red Line. Two blocks from beach. The big screen TV and the comfortable couch made it difficult to leave.
One of my favorite AirBNB stays. Lovely basement unit that provided some of the best sleep I've had in years. Bigger than my apartment so very nice to have space and the amenities of home. One minute to the Red Line and nice restaurants in the area. This is not one of those make-a-buck rentals that are cropping up on AirBNB. Well-cared for and nicely appointed.
It was an amazing trip!
Thomas and Marcus are very nice guys. Marcus helped us with daily issues, for exemple, which bus to take and gave us tips about were to eat and places to visit.
The place is awesome. Near the train station e and bus stop, restaurants, groceries. Its a very quiet e cozy place to stay, with all equipments you ll need and a huge tv.
Im sure you wont regret staying here!!!
We had a great stay in Thomas's apartment. The place is beautiful, well-decorated, and well-stocked with all the things we needed. The neighborhood was also great, and being just steps from the red line was very convenient for us. Thomas lives in the building and was very helpful and responsive. We'd definitely stay here again on our next trip to Chicago.
The place is located about 60 steps from the 24 Hour Red Line EL Train. The neighborhood feel is the perfect getaway for activities in the Loop and Wrigley Field. Thomas is a great host leaving small things to eat and coffee to drink. If you need anything to prepare for breakfast a store open from 6am to 11pm or later is next to the train station. Great homey neighborhood make me feel like I was a resident not a visitor. Awesome vibe in the neighborhood. The Little Saigon neighborhood to the south was great for real Vietnamese and Chinese food. I would rent again in a minute.
Thomas's apartment is wonderful. The pics here don't do it justice. It's huge, it's quiet, roomy, and well decorated, with a nice kitchen and bathroom and an enormous flatscreen TV. The location is very nice — 5 minute walk from the lake, short walk to Andersonville's shops (don't miss the Algerian food!), and one block from the elevated train that takes you directly to Lincoln Park, Rogers Park, Wrigley Field, or the Loop. (It's also far enough from the train that you don't hear it at night — the perfect distance.) It's a basement apartment, but I prefer that in the heat of summer or the cold of winter, and during my visit Chicago was 90 and muggy with occasional thunderstorms — the quiet and AC were a welcome relief!
I never met Thomas in person, but he's quick to communicate on any issue, and his friend Marcus in the building was easy to reach, flexible on time, and got us settled in and made sure everything was all set.
Honestly, the only bad thing about the visit was that we couldn't stay longer! Will come back the first chance we get!
Great guests. Were really quiet and friendly.
