Ciao, mi chiamo Alessandra ed insieme a Gabriele proviamo ad accompagnarvi alla scoperta della Costiera Amalfitana.....(website hidden)
The Neighborhood was GREAT! Gabrielle was very nice.
Fantastic apartment, more than what was expected. Atrani is a great little town and we would definitely stay here again.
Quality apartment in a lovely part of Atrani. Café an restaurant's just yards away.
Gabriele came and picked us up from local car park where we left our car over night and he brought is right to the door and walked us through the apartment.
Complimentary, tea, coffee, juice, pasta, Pringles and other snacks - perfect after a long day travelling from the UK.
Amazing location - apartment very well equipped
Alessandra was very easy to communicate with and her husband met with us to show us the location of the apartment. The apartment was clean and furnished nicely. Atrani is a neighborhood filled with older residents mixed in with a few occasional tourists; it has a few shops, bars and restaurants and has a very authentic feel. Amalfi is a 5 minute walk and is much more touristy, busy and more upscale. The cover picture for this listing is not the view from the apartment. The only view from the apartment is of other buildings. There is a bistro table on an outside deck but you still can't see the ocean from it, that was our only complaint.
Loved staying in Atrani. It's a charming village close to busier Amalfi but easy to go back and forth. We used the " Sunflower Landscapes" Guide, available from Amazon, to do day walks from there to other towns. The views are just stunning. Lots of stairs but it doesn't matter because you are stopping to look every few steps.
The apartment was as advertised, all new and very nice. Gabriel (email hidden)ere is no way to make coffee except instant Nescafé, but the piaza is quite near with several bars offering good espresso.
The bus from Salerno was very crowded. It thins out after a few stops, but you don't want to have huge luggage. For trips between towns the bus was great.
3 months ago today I moved to Atrani by myself to write music. I can honestly say it was the happiest experience of my life. Alessandra and her partner Gabriele were incredibly warm and welcoming hosts and met me off the bus in Amalfi to carry my bags for me. The apartment is beautiful, light and clean and felt like home, not a hotel. It is fully furnished with Ikea appliances and is the perfect size. During my 12 week stay in Atrani I was lucky enough to make many friends. The locals are the most wonderful, vibrant, generous people you'll ever meet who truly took me into their hearts and homes. I spent my days in Amalfi (10 minute walk from the apartment), having lunch at the local restaurants in Atrani (Da Zaccaria, Le Palme, Le Arcate and Savo- run by the beautiful Carla), writing music, eating gelato, lying on the beach and taking day trips to Positano, Ravello, Capri and Sorrento (all easy by Sita bus or boat). At night I would go to the local bar La Risacca (run by the lovely Lelo) in the piazza. My parents even came to visit and fell in love with the town as much as I did. Atrani (email hidden)ey truly were the happiest days of my life so far!
We cannot recommend renting from Alessandra.
In an email prior to booking, Alessandra assured us that the apartment was heated - it was not. (This was for a December-January rental.) There was (email hidden) heater for a large (50m2) apartment with three separate rooms, and that obviously isn't enough. We were freezing and were miserable. Alessandra's boyfriend tried to help us by offering another small space heater, but having both on at the same time blew the electricity in the apartment.
Alessandra was not honest to us in her email regarding the heating. We have asked for a modest refund of less than one night, and Alessandra has not responded to our request - sent almost three weeks ago.
We have tried to use AirBnB's resolution procedures, but Alessandra is not even responding to the AirBnB client service....!
If she finally responds to us, we would be happy to give a positive evaluation of the apartment in its other respects, but at this point, it really seems like Alessandra is not someone to do business with.
Shu Shu's house is in Atrani, a very small village just a 10 minute walk from the bustling Amalfi. This makes it ideal to stay in an authentic community while having easy access to all the features of (website hidden) of all is the warm hospitality of Alessandra and Gabriele. They went out of their way to welcome us and were delightful hosts. We consider them friends and hope they will visit us here! So if you are looking for a personable experience, with connection to real people and not just a place to stay, this is the place!
Alessandra and her boyfriend, Gabriele, were super friendly, accommodating and generous hosts. They met us when we get off the bus, at 10:30pm in the rain! Gabriele insisted on carrying our luggage for us! The apt. is only a few minutes walk from the main square in Atrani - it really is a great location. They had a bottle of wine waiting for us in the apt., and told us to help ourselves to any of the food in the kitchen (staples like juice, bottled water and pasta were provided for us). The kitchen was very clean - everything feels new and is decorated very modern (mainly from Ikea). The apt. itself is quite utilitarian - clean with everything you need. Alessandra runs a whimsical boutique in the village of Amalfi (a 10 min. walk from Atrani). We stopped by to say hello - near closing, and she and her boyfriend insisted on sharing drinks with them in the piazza in Amalfi. They even introduced us to a wonderful restaurant in Amalfi, "Da Maria Trattoria e Pizzeria" where we received the "friend" discount because of them. It was super yummy, (the fresh octopus melts in your mouth!) With Alessandra and Gabrielle are much more than nice 'landlords', they really make you feel like you are visiting friends - they are so personable and charming. Gabrielle also publishes travel books about the Amalfi Coast, so he is a treasure of knowledge about the best places to visit. Some of our favorite adventures were taking a bus to Sorrento, and then a ferry to Capri - where we took another bus to Anacapri, and then a gondola to the top of the island. On another day, we hiked the 'Path of the Gods' - which has one of the most spectacular views in the world. Atrani is a sleepy little village by the sea, where there are barely any tourists (unlike its bustling neighbor, Amalfi). There are donkeys carrying construction materials up and down the maze of narrow stairs - just like they probably did hundreds of years ago. There are old men who are sweeping the piazza in the early morning. You really feel as though you have stepped back into time. I also want to highly recommend Le Palme Restaurant - the owner, Salvatore is always friendly and welcoming - and even called Alessandra for us when we arrived - to let her know we were there - and the food is delicious! The gnocchi was my favorite.
it was a pleasure from start to finish. Alessandra was very quick and efficient responding and coordinating her arrival details etc. On arrival day she followed perfectly all instructions given. Everyone was very educated, friendly, punctual, orderly and very agreeable people to meet at check-in and upon departure. i would recommend her as a guest without any hesitation!
Five stars for Alessandra & Friends
