Casa di Sciu Sciu is a very cute apartment in the lovely village of Atrani. It's much more spacious than it appears in pictures and is a cute space that seems carved into the stone walls of the coast. Very beautiful. That said, it is NOT well equipped for off-season stays. There is no heat, other than a small electric space heater that is only powerful enough to heat the bedroom, not the rest of the apartment. Additionally, the electricity in the area is not reliable and you cannot have the space heater plugged in at the same time you are using the oven. In fact, you can't really use any electric appliances while using the oven/stove. Not a big deal at other times of the year, but really difficult in winter! We were just so cold the whole time... Despite that, though, Alessandra and her boyfriend Gabriele were kind and responsive! Gabriele met us and helped us with our bags and gave us some good recommendations. We would definitely stay here again, but NOT in the colder months.
Alesasandra was unable to meet us, but her boyfriend did, He was very helpful and informative. He took us to our accommodations, explained everything about the area. answered all our questions.
It is a nice way to start the area vacation.
My family and I enjoyed a lovely 3 days at Shu Shu's house. The apartment is very comfortable, had everything we needed and was as described. The booking process was easy and my queries were responded to in a timely fashion.
We were very thankful and grateful to Alessandra's partner Gabriele who picked us up from Amalfi, helped us with our bags and helped arrange a taxi for our departure.
Atrani and Shu Shu's was a lovely place to stay which I would highly recommend.
Amazing place and amazing time. No better place to stay than here
We had a great stay at Shu Shu's house. It is a clean and cosy apartment in a great location. Charming Atrani is much quieter and less touristy than its neighbour Amalfi, but is only a ten minute walk away. Alessandra and Gabriele were helpful and generous hosts.
Alessandra was away but Gabriele met us in Amalfi and juggled us and our luggage to the room with his car. The pictures are certainly what to expect. Atrani is a lovely village (if you are a light sleeper, the church bells seems to ring very late and early, you may need ear plugs, and someone in the village had a rooster that liked to crow at 5am - but that has nothing to do with the room of course!). Clean, bright, well equipped, left a binder explaining everything. About a 10 min walk to Amalfi. The stairs to the room and up and down the hill to Amalfi can be a little strenuous if you aren't in the best of shape (like me...lol). Some nice snacks in the cupboard, fresh fruit on the table, wine and water in the fridge. Lots of storage for clothing, big bedroom, spacious kitchen/living room, restaurants and a small grocery store nearby.
Many thanks to Allessandra and Gabriele for welcoming us to your flat , the welcome package of fruit and cold beer was just what we needed after a long day travelling . The flat is really well appointed clean and comfortable .
Atrani is a magical place which still has a village feel and the people are genuinely friendly. We were lucky enough to catch a concert in the village square on our first night there. ...mandolin, accordion and a wonderful tenor belting out Italian songs old and new ...locals giving the chorus laldy and all the wee toots dancing around in their finery ..a real treat. The annual festival on the 1st September was a visual spectacle too.
Very nice appartment, very close to the center of Atrani and well furnished (with very appreciated gifts in the fridge)
Most of all, very good reception from Gabriele, he helped us to find the cheapest way to park the car and when we had some issues, he helped us to solve it.
Alessandra and Gabrielle were wonderful hosts. The communication was clear and Gabrielle was wonderful collecting me in his car, driving me to the apartment and carrying my very heavy bag!
The apartment is light, clean and spacious and in a wonderful location - I would stay in Atrani over any of the other villages on the coast. It is almost free of tourists, has a beautiful beach just around the corner that is free (Castiglione) it has a bus stop, it's a ten minute walk to Amalfi, and has a lovely small piazza where everyone gathers at night and it's filled with bars and restaurants.
The Neighborhood was GREAT! Gabrielle was very nice.
it was a pleasure from start to finish. Alessandra was very quick and efficient responding and coordinating her arrival details etc. On arrival day she followed perfectly all instructions given. Everyone was very educated, friendly, punctual, orderly and very agreeable people to meet at check-in and upon departure. i would recommend her as a guest without any hesitation!
Five stars for Alessandra & Friends
