This was a truly awful experience.
To return, after our home was anxiety attacked and destroyed in a weekend away, was incredibly disheartening. To clearly photograph, describe, and list, in our peaceful family neighborhood, we were not prepared for this to happen. Being dis-satisfied is not grounds to ruin a person’s home.
Screening out large parties, erratic misconduct, and misleading guests, proved difficult in this case, but would have saved us days of cleanup, time spent documenting damage, and great disappointment.
A House, Golden Rule Book, with comprehensive guidelines on how to treat people and the spaces we share, sounds like a good tool for Guests like this & raising children. I believe help is listed here: https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/695
We have un-listed at this time, though other guests and experiences have been conscientious and positive. Friends on airbnb have encouraged me to go ahead with this Review, to give a true representation of what can go Very Wrong with strangers in an honor system.
