Relatively new to Tasmania, I operate a food business specialising in vegan cuisine and products. Please use phone number listed if you want to contact me directly (i.e. ends with a six).
I had a short but comfortable stay at Alan's place in March 2014, to attend a conference in the Moonah area. The host is very respectful of privacy and he keeps a neat and tidy home. He provides lots of useful info about Hobart and surrounds, including bus schedules with maps enclosed, which I found very handy. I can highly recommend Alan's place.
This is a very nice room with a comfortable bed. We enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony. Also appreciated the books and brochures on travelling in Tasmania, historic houses, birds and hiking. Alan inspired us in making more foods from scratch. Moonah is further out of town, but within easy driving distance. There are several restaurants nearby and there is plenty of shopping.
We stayed with Alan for 4 nights, The apartment is very nice and clean and the comfy room has a huge balcony. The apartment is perfectly located between the MONA and the city. Communication with Alan was easy, we really enjoyed our stay!
Clean, comfy and near to shops. Alan has many hidden talents too, so if you're passionate about food and fermentation, he's the man to talk to! His walnut 'ricotta' and vanilla kefir is delicious.
Alan was very busy during the four days I stayed with him, often up and about before 7, so between that and my galavanting around Hobart day and night, I didn't spend much time talking with him. He was pleasant during our interactions and has a beautiful home.
It's a well appointed, clean room with a small fridge/freezer and a very comfortable bed.
Thanks again, Alan.
Everything was great. The apartment was clean and neat.
The bed was comfortable and there with a electric blanket which Alan had started for us on arrival so the bed was toasty warm. ;) Very nice balcony and beautiful flower arrangement in our room.
Alan was a very kind and attentive hostess. Thank you!
Would definitely recommend staying there.
The place is a in a good location if you're interested in both the city and MONA (though if going by bus to MONA, give yourself plenty of time). Supermarkets not too far away; on a lovely little street on a hill. Serviceable place and had what I needed; I enjoyed my stay in Hobart.
Alan was generous with his time & knowledge of Hobart & its attractions. His home is situated between MONA & the city, which I found handy. It was only a short (10min) bus trip from the city. Alans very friendly & happy to make you feel welcome in his home.
We had a great stay at Al's place. Al was really helpful and had good advice. We really enjoyed spending a few days around NYE in Hobart, the MONA in particular is a must do (we spent a whole day there). Easy to get to the city as well, highly recommended!
Just make sure you use the right phone number to contact him beforehand.
Alan has a very nice home which is kept very clean and tidy - located on the City end of Moona. It is located on a very nice street in a very good area of the suburb.
Alan was very friendly and forthcoming with recommendations regarding things to do in Hobart.
I would have no reservations recommending staying with Alan while visiting Hobart.
Alan was a wonderful guest! He was quiet, polite, and generous-he even gave us a bike (now we have an extra for our other guests!). We'd definitely have Alan back.
Alan was a great guest! It was a pleasure hosting him at the Villa! He is a perfect example of a model guest! Very clean and respectful of the space! I highly recommend :) 5 stars!
nice easy going people, even if I leave in another Country we had no problem organising their stay at my place.
Alan was a great guest and I would be happy to have him stay again.
