Semi-retired filmmaker, teacher, PR specialist. Produce local music concerts. Volunteer with various performing arts groups. I'm active in various organizations that promote environmental issues, broadband access and the effort to save our parks. I taught radio production and managed the Mendocino student radio station in 2010-11. In the "infinite wisdom" of the board the position was cut. This summer I hope to work with the California Department of Parks and recreation at one of the parks that was scheduled for closure, writing grants to help keep it open.
Here is what a couple of f my recent guests wrote about their stay:
Julian D., New York City - Jim is a fantastic host. His place is a warm welcome to a weary travel. The guest room is in its own section of the house with the bathroom right next door. Everything was very clean and I was treated to a great homemade dinner. The area is very quiet but still close to local attractions. Altogether, a wonderful place to stay!
Christa D, Petaluma, CA - A very homey and cozy room with a double bed and small TV/DVD player, nice big bathroom; all quite private at one end of the home. We immediately felt at home. Good value in the pricey Mendocino area. Our host, Jim, is a very gracious, easy going gentleman and film maker. His recommendations included a beautiful sunset tour of the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse, where he is a docent.
