I am an archaeologist, recently retired, who loves travelling, reading mystery novels, cinema, long walks and taking pictures in numerous contexts. My wife and I are also very interested in contemporary architecture and art, cultural heritage issues and discovering rich and diverse urban landscapes.
I find cooking a great way to unwind - reduce stress - and share this pleasure with friends and family whenever possible. My favorite music is jazz closely followed by "world" music from various parts of the world.
My wife is a choral singer and we both speak French (first language) and English.
When we travel, we like as much as possible, to spend several days in the city or area in order to develop a better sense of place and to discover things beyond the toursity "musts". Wandering through different neighborhoods without a specific plan is a great way of doing this, particularly with a camera in hand.
