I am a world traveler, very flexible, retired history teacher and amateur photographer. I am quite independent and am curious about different cultures, cuisines, music, dance.
Joyce was knowledgable, friendly and hugely welcoming, we couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. Her house is beautiful and the bathroom was a particular treat! Highly recommended!
I just spent a week at Victorian Splendor and had a great time. The house is perfectly located at The Mission neighbourhood and close to loads of bars, restaurants and cafes. The apartment is flooded with light and the room spacious and comfortable. Joyce, the owner of the house, put a great energy in making my stay comfortable as well as she provided me with tons of tips on what to do and see. She is such an amazing person and the whole experience to be there worth the trip to San Francisco on itself.
Great location, close to public transport and lots of great restaurants.
Quiet street and friendly neighbourhood.
Joyce is truly an attentive, caring host. It felt natural to share her beautiful Victorian home, with Zak, her Beagle. Our room & bathroom were super clean & comfortable. We would stay again. Cheers Joyce!
This was the best Airbnb experience I ever had regarding the host and the place. The apartment was so much better than the picture of the listing and being at the apartment was like being in India or Marocko. The atmosfar in the apartment and the design reminds me of Marocko
and India even though I haven't been there. She had pictures on her walls which was awesome , I thought a photographer took them, but she took the pictures! The apartment is big and try to stay there many night , so you are able to read a book in the living room or eat breakfast at her terrance. The room was so fantastic that I really said "WoW" when Joyce open the door to the room.I loved the room that I wanted to live there forever, the room also have the same style as the rest of the apartment , which I adore. The privat bathroom has a huge space. With all the descricption that I read and what joyce told me was easy to follow and there was nothing that was difficult to follow.
The dog ( Zach) was the nicest dog I have ever meet , so well rasied and I almost felt that if I ever get a dog that I would hire Joyce as my dog trainer. The area was nothing I paid so much attention of , because the way Joyce told me , made me feel save .Joyce has great friends and they are lovely and fun to talk to.Joyce felt more like a big sister to me then a host , she made my stay more than comfortble and also made me comfortble in the city that I never felt lost or being in a different city, and it felt more like I stayed at a relative place. She was very warm , open-minden and full with life and is looking forward for many things in her life. She is full with ideas and knows the city so much that you can ask her for anything and also talk about anything. She easy to talk to and I could talk to her whatever concern I had , She was so friendly that I was not used to and I never felt like I was renting from a host or that I was renting from AIRBNB, it felt more like I was staying with a sister. She will truly be missed and I will never forget her , because I have never meet someone that has as beautiful soul as her.
San Fransisco is a city you need to go, the city has much to offer.
Loved the location, beautiful home, Joyce is a great hostess
with helpful tips for travelers (she's also a guide in San F) & very easy to talk to about anything.
Loved the decor -warm reds & golds with mementos of her many trips.
We had a wonderful time in San Francisco. One of the highlights was the stay in Joyce's house! Joyce is very knowledgeable about the local area and she gave us plenty of fantastic suggestions about where to go and what to do which really enhanced our holiday experience. Our room is beautiful, airy, with a private bathroom. The house is in Mission district where you can find the most amazing and diverse food within less than 10 minutes walking distance. We can't expected anything better and would like to say a big thank you to Joyce. All the best from Wei and Dave. P.S. a big hug to Zack
We stayed for five nights in the Victorian Splendor and it really felt like home. The room and the bath room are very nice and clean and every morning we had a good and varied breakfast. Joyce was such a great host! Thanks to her numerous advices about San Francisco we saw a lot more of the city than we would have seen without her. She is really an expert of San Francisco. The Mission District is quite interesting with a lot of restaurants of all possible cuisines and a good access to the city by public transport. Thanks again to Joyce for the fantastic time in San Francisco!
We stayed 4 nights in Joyce's beautiful Victorian home.
After strolling for 5 days trough San Fransisco we found the Mission neighbourhood the most attractive in terms of lifelines, food and shops.
We would definitely recommend staying at Joyce, she is a wonderful host, gave us a ton of useful tips and made us feel like being home.
Great Host. Great Appartment. Great recommendations. Great stay. Would Love to come back immediately.
Joyce and her Beagle Buddy are great guests with lots of enthusiasm and ready to go see and do all there is in this wonderful area. She packed it in and blessed our house with her joy and exuberance for life. She is clean and thoughtful in every way. Welcome back anytime!
Joyce was a delightful guest to host. She is a real world traveler and she has very interesting stories to share. Joyce was very good at keeping the communication open prior to her arrival. It made the arrangement so much easier. She treated my home with care and respect. I would love to host Joyce again! You can't ask for a better guest.
Joyce Love is a well traveled, dynamic, wonderful woman and guest. She's very open and communicative and enjoys dropping into community and exploring nature. I learned so much from her about hosting and this awesome airbnb service. Joyce is invited and welcome to Home of the Heart anytime. Love and Blessings, Valerie
Clever. Outgoing. Interested. Informed. Respectful. Delightful to have around. Total charm in the form of a person who is venturing into the world feeling happy with the discoveries so far! Terrific company, clean, quiet, generous and a tactful.
We had a very good time with Joyce and enjoyed her and Zacky's visit. We appreciated that she clearly communicated with us about her arrival time and let us know when she had a change in plans. Joyce is a good conversationalist and interested in many different things so it was easy to find common ground. We learned we are both Airbnb hosts and, based on our time together, feel comfortable referring each other to folks traveling in our respective areas. Joyce is polite, friendly and was a good house guest. Her dog, Zacky, was also a good guest, both indoors and outdoors, and got along just fine with our dogs. We'd be happy to have both Joyce and Zacky visit us again.
Joyce, full of Joy, making a choice to look at life from the bright side, a joy to have as a guest and just as gracious as she is as a host!
Thank you for being and floating at the Be and Be WELL! Please come a again, we inJoy you thoroughly!
Joyce was nice enough to send these lovely young women to my house after they stayed at her home in SF.
Thanks again, Joyce
Great guest. Would definitely welcome her back.
It was fun having Joyce around. She's interesting and friendly. We'll hopefully keep in touch and meet again.
Great location, terrific hostess with lots of knowlege to share about San Francisco (she is a tour guide!) The Mission is a great area to stay in - close to public transportation, good restaurants, and interesting sights. From her home you can walk to alot of places. Her home is bright, light, airy, with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. A great bonus is the deck in the backyard for sunning. (The Mission actually has more sun than most parts of San Francisco). You won't regret a stay at Chez Joyce!
Joyce is my colleague and fellow photographic traveller. Her extensive knowledge of not only the Bay Area and California but points in Asia, Latin America and Europe places her in a nice position to entertain and share with guests from around the world, and in several languages besides her most charming and educated English. And then, of course, there is her lovely home where lucky visitors get to sojourn a few days or weeks. Simply exquisite! See you soon, Joyce. Cheers! David
