I was most comfortable in John's house and he was a considerate and attentive host. His roommate and her daughter were also great company but privacy was respected by all. One note - GPS took me on a unpaved road through the woods so follow John's directions!
My stay was really great! John is such a nice and peaceful person and the house is beautiful and quiet. I'm thinking of going back soon, it was such a lovely atmosphere. I definitely recommend this place!!
Staying with John was super. Out a dirt road and so very quiet, yet just a short drive into Amherst MA. The floors were lovely as was the enclosed porch -- a great place to read a book and drink some tea. The flannel sheets were so cozy.
I was attending a last minute conference in Amherst and my husband suggested airbnb. I contacted John, he responded quickly and was very helpful and welcoming. His home was very comfortable and relaxing. The house is surrounded by woods and I enjoyed the Fall colors relaxing in the sun one afternoon. The room was perfect for me and the futon comfortable. The atmosphere was just right for me and I enjoyed nice conversation with John and another house guest that was staying there at the same time. I would highly recommend it. Andrea
John's place was just what I was looking for. A peaceful, beautiful retreat in the woods. The house was well-decorated with an extensive and interesting library. I'm an economics nerd and John recommended and lent me a book I really enjoyed (The Invisible Heart). The majority of the library is filled with books on meditation and world religions. John was a fantastic host. Warm, quirky, good company. Would definitely come back!
I've found John to be a most kind and welcoming host! The land is wonderfully peaceful and absolutely beautiful, the room I stayed in was very comfortable, and John's home is very cozy. A small meditation place was available and John was always read to answer any questions or provide suggestions about living in the valley, where to go for runs, where to eat, etc.. I will definitely be staying at his place in the future.
John was an excellent host. His house is in a really beautiful area in the middle of nature. We loved the cozy room we stayed in. We had an area for meditating a walls full of books. We did not get a chance to spend much time with John because we only stayed one night, but we hope to be back soon for more hikes in the Pioneer Valley!
John is a wonderful host, his house is clean and very comfortable, and the surrounding area is a great place to bicycle and get outdoors. We very much enjoyed talking with John about his work and his interests, slept comfortably in his guest room, and enjoyed a nice breakfast with him.
We found John's accommodations to be exactly as specified except the surrounding landscape was even more beautiful. John amended his schedule to fit our arrival time which was helpful for our visit, the room and bath were quite up to our expectations, the location was minutes away from town and yet secluded. Discussions with John over coffee the morning of our departure were quite pleasant and we are sure to go back again on our next visit to the area.
John was a really wonderful host and the house is in a gorgeous forested setting. The room was comfortable and the library extensive. The fruit and coffee in the morning were very helpful to get us going.
