Someday you'll find yourself in Ellsworth or Hancock, Maine. And when you do, you are welcome to stay with me.
I have two separate listings that you are welcome to consider. The first is in my home in the small coastal city of Ellsworth which is the physical center of Hancock County. Or 8 miles away on Route 1 in Hancock, closer to Schoodic at Acadia National Park, where I operate a small inn that has lovely rooms on two bucolic acres in a country setting. When you stay in my either in my comfortable home or at the inn you are close to all the attractions from Acadia National Park to lobster boats to remote islands and all the great cultural, restaurant and shopping escapades that you could want. Plus, the eastern most point in the US and Canada are a day trip away.
I am a local entrepreneur, writer and metal sculptor who has lived in the Downeast Maine area for 40 years. I love living here on the Maine coast where I bicycle, boat, kayak, hike, walk, ski and explore. The town where I live, Ellsworth, is a great stepping off place to discover the rich and interesting places to visit while in the area. I take the time exploring all the beautiful natural wonders like Acadia Natl Park, Bold Coast Trail, Downeast Sunrise Trail, cozy fishing villages, art galleries, fresh water swimming, restaurants and enjoy sharing what I know with others.
My spacious home is located on a quiet side street right in Ellsworth, where my book lined walls, comfy furniture, original Maine artwork and lovely back yard are available to all my guests. My inn, Ironbound, is a comfortable property where flourishing gardens, comfortably chic rooms and our bistro style restaurant with an edge on sustainability serving locally sourced foods, has local flair and is a great place to settle in.
My friendly, well behaved Basset, Gus, is primarily at my home, but makes his way over to Ironbound. My cat always around the house, but never driving guests nuts.
And I love to have friends over for dinner. If you're lucky you'll meet some wonderful locals, who might even know more of great places to explore. We're Maine. We're Real.
