Ruairi was a great host who contacted me
and kindly met me on arrival.
Friendly neighborhood and clean streets.
It was all very positive and welcoming.

I was one weekend in Ruairi's accommodation. Ruairi is a very friendly man. That apartment is perfectly located,
just 5 min from the dart station an 3 min from the centre of dun laoghaire .
I recommend everybody this apartment .
Ruairi, was very pleasent to deal with and the apartment location was really great. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ruairi's apartment for anyone seeking to stay in the Dun Laoghaire area.
Fantastic apartment! Location is absolutely second to none!
Ruairí was a great and very pleasant host, very uncomplicated and quick in communication and absolutely helpful in all respects. I really felt welcomed, cared for, well directed to the sights and flavors of Ireland particularly Dun laoghaire.
The apartment was brilliant. Super clean with all amenities ideally set out and I would be coming again in the future.
Unfortunately, this apartment was a disappointment. The only feature it had was its location. To begin with we only had a key for the apartment and not the outer door to the building. This was rectified during the first 24 hours (should never have happened). The apartment was basically dirty - accumulated dust on window sills and furniture tops, uncleaned surfaces in the kitchen.
Ruairí was an excellent and gracious host. He welcomed me at the coach stop in Dun Laoghaire, showed me the location of the theatre I was going to be working in, and even took time to invite me for a drink. He went out of his way to make me feel welcome and at ease in his home. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a comfortable room to stay in with a gorgeous view of the sea and pier only minutes away! Thank you Ruairí! See you next time I am back.
First of all, the location was great. The apartment is located on a beautiful street a block or two from the sea (which you can see when you step out the door) and right off of main street Dun Laoghaire. Close to transit to Dublin and the aircoach to the airport. I would highly recommend some of the establishments in Sandycove, such as Fitzgerald's Pub and Weafer & Cooper restaurant (this one is really excellent). Sunshine Cafe in Dun Laoghaire was ok. Definitely go for a walk on Dun Laoghaire pier. I would also recommend the spa in the nearby Royal Marine Hotel.
Some issues: the apartment does not have internet. Another issue was that I told Ruairi that we needed two sets of keys, to which he responded that his friend had the second set and we could get it from him, but then didn't tell us how to get in touch with his friend. It seemed like too much of a hassle to seek out this illusive second set, but in the end we could have used them. Ruairi also did not provide towels.
Overall, the price is right and I'm happy my friend and I stayed here rather than in central Dublin.
Response from Ruairí:
Have now addressed the issues-
Broadband/WiFi now installed
Two sets of keys on arrival
Ruairi and his daughter were thoughtful quiet guests and we barely felt them in the house. Come back anytime!
Ruairi is a friendly, respectful, intelligent guest. I'd be happy to have him back anytime.
