Vanessa and David's cottage is a clean and cozy spot in SLO to call home while you're in the area. They were extremely helpful and responsive with any questions we had or help we needed finding something. Classic cottage with Connect Four (plus more games), DVD's, classic books and a comfy bed. All in all a great experience!
Wonderful spot, excellent hosts. David gave us some great suggestions for fun things to do around the area.
We had a very relaxing time at the Olive Tree Cabin. The hot tub was a plus, especially at night while watching the starry skies. We saw about a dozen deer running around the nearby fields. This cozy cabin was clean, conveniently located but still tucked away enough to make it a quiet and tranquil place to stay. Thanks David and Vanessa!
Wonderful cabin! The hot tub was great, especially with all the stars and moonlight. A couple of deer wandered over to the deck to say hello at one point.
What a lovely little cabin! We absolutely loved our stay in this cozy spot. We made some good meals in the kitchen and had plenty of room for the two of us and our 18-month-old son. The hot tub is not to be missed -- soaking under the stars is the best way to end a day on the road. Thank you!
This place is great. It's approximately 15 minutes outside of SLO, so convenient but not in the hub of things. We spent our days out n about, but then would spend our nights snuggled up in the remodeled barn. You can see all the stars, and that, paired with a private hot tub, makes for a great stay. It's quaint, but has everything you would need. We had a great time!
My friend and I wanted to take a weekend trip together not too far from Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo was the perfect choice. It came highly recommended by our friends. This cabin was less than a 20 minute drive from downtown SLO, where there are a lot of cafes, restaurants, and bars. It was clean, comfortable, and very quiet. The sky was so dark that you could see a multitude of stars. The hot tub was a nice way to relax. We didn't use the kitchen but it seemed well-equipped with cooking tools and the fridge was very clean and roomy. The bathroom is quite large for 2 people but the shower itself is not. It's just a standing area with a curtain and no tub. There's a CD player with some CDs (a lot of Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton) so you should bring your own if you want to listen to music. Additionally, there was a printout and a binder of local events and things to do. Finally, there were a couple of board games and magazines. It was a nice feeling to return to the cabin after a day out hiking at Montana de Oro State Park in Los Osos and visiting the Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here and would stay here again if visiting the area again.
Had a nice quiet stay and David & Vanessa's rustic cabin. Although I didn't have a chance to try out to hot tub, it looked nice and clean. David was very prompt in his communication, and very through with the directions. There was even a morning visit from a small herd of deer.
Though I didn't get a chance to interact with David and Vanessa in person during my stay, they were nonetheless excellent hosts. I booked at the last minute and didn't arrive until very late, and they were kind enough to be very responsive and accommodating, readying the house and having the hot tub ready to go upon my arrival.
The cabin is lovely and the perfect size for 2 just wanting to get away from it all for a few days. (There is no wi-fi in the cabin, which wasn't a nuisance but rather an additional excuse to leave the outside world behind for a while.) It was easy to feel solitude even with the other houses on the property within viewing distance. We wanted to stay much longer but had to get back to the grind.
Thanks David and Vanessa! :)
Had a lovely stay here. Hot tub is fantastic. It is not quite as in the middle of nowhere as I would have imagined as there are a few other houses next to the cabin. Having said that I only saw a couple of cars going by the whole time we were there, so it was really quiet and with a lovely view. Inside the cabin is certainly shabby chic. Great location for the beach and the happiest town down the road.
Mmm, avocados! They gave us a couple from their tree in San Louis Obispo as a parting gift. They were nice and fun people who also did a nice job of keeping the place tidy.
