I'm from coastal North Florida, spent some time in North Carolina, now in San Diego. Here, I enjoy days without humidity and nights without mosquitos, both rarities in my former haunts. I'm in graduate school at UC San Diego, as part of a lifelong quest to have a career doing something I love. In the meantime, I'm easily distracted by beautiful locations, incredible experiences, and any chance to laugh late into the night over a cocktail with my closest friends and family. Preferably accompanied by really good pretzels, properly-made buffalo wings, nearly any shrimp-based concoction. I often don't see as much as I plan to, because I spent too long agonizing over my shoe choice--sneaker affection is a fickle mistress. Having had a VW camper for 15 years, we went our separate ways two years ago, and now I'm trying out staying in "houses" and things like that when I travel. How novel! Hoping airbnb.com can help! My usual traveling companion Marilyn and I are both pretty laid back as guests--we appreciate nice things, but also have a deep and abiding love for the funky, the eclectic--the destination that speaks to its creators more than to a target market. We're probably more likely to wheel into a fried chicken shack or a roadside bbq stand than we are a 5-star restaurant. If we wanted a sanitized snooze-fest, we'd be on some hotel chain website, right? Hope to see you soon! :)
