Arthur's apartment is ideally located between the Marigny and the French Quarter. The neighbor is quiet but in short walking distance of pretty much everywhere you'll want to visit on a short trip to New Orleans. Arthur is genuinely friendly guy and is very knowledgeable about the local art and music scene.
The place will accommodate a couple or four people very comfortably. It's got high ceilings, a fully equipped kitchen and is tastefully decorated. We stayed for 3 nights with 8 guests. Arthur has more than four, high quality, blow-up mattresses that were surprisingly comfortable. There was plenty of room. For those looking for cheaper accommodation in the Quarter, Arthur's is a very good option.
Response from Arthur:
Thanks, Henry. Enjoyed meeting you guys and appreciate the nice review. Best, Arthur
The host was wonderful. He was flexible, helpful, and kind. The apartment was in a great location and was roomy. However, it was dirty and bare bones. My recommendation would be that he has the apartment thoroughly and professionally cleaned prior to renting out. Furthermore, he may want to consider purchasing some decorative, comfortable items for the beds.
Arthur was a real nice guy and the house was pretty cool. It is in an ideal location on the edge of the French Quarter and just a couple blocks from Frenchman Street. Highly recommended.
Huge place perfectly located between the French Quarter and Frenchmen street. There were 5 of us and we had to look for each other the house is so big! Arthur was a great host, called me to confirm and was really reliable. He gave us great tips on what to see and where to go.
We were in town for a conference and this wasn't the best place to be for work as it wasn't very clean and the internet didn't work. But if you're coming for a visit or to party I would recommend it.
The house is great! I was surprised to find it was better in person than in the pics. The back patio was a great spot to hang out, even though it was rainy outside. The place had gobs of character, a nice comfortable vibe, and plenty of space. Arthur was very friendly and accommodating as well. I'd gladly stay here again!
I can say nothing but great things about Arthur and his amazing house.
To start, Arthur was a pleasure to work with throughout the booking process. We were super annoying, changing dates and numbers of guests and he was flexible and accommodating throughout. We ended up being a group of 8 and admittedly, I thought we were in for a tight squeeze but the space is so big and open we were totally comfortable. Arthur has a couple of double bed air mattresses which we easily set up in the main sitting space-- between those, the main bed and the two twin beds in the back, we were good to go. The kitchen is accessible and well-equipped-- perfect for making breakfast or a late night snack. And the outdoor patio was just about the best thing ever, we all spent every morning out there with coffees and breakfast, enjoying the greenery and sun.
The location of Arthur's home can't be beat. Since we visited during Jazz Fest, proximity to the Fairgrounds was key and we actually walked there and back everyday-- saved us a ton of $ on cabs and a ton of time waiting in long lines. We were blocks from Frenchman St. and the heart of the French Quarter. Everything was accessible.
Arthur himself may be the best part of the experience. He sat with us for a good 40 minutes when we checked in, gave us the lay of the land and a little history lesson. He is eager to share his city with out of town guests. His hospitality and enthusiasm were the cherry on top of an all around amazing trip.
We're already talking about when we're coming back. Thanks again, Arthur!
Arthur's place was just perfect for us. It is located for easy walking to everything we wanted to do. His private patio was inviting and we were able to eat outside all three nights. Arthur was a fantastic host, giving us detailed information on the best places to eat, drink, park and explore. He was more than helpful and willing to answer all our questions. Arthur's knowledge of New Orleans and it's history made our stay even richer than it would have been. He is a bachelor and it shows but, his hospitality and willingness to help override that fact. I hope that Arthur's place is available for us next time we come to New Orleans!
We loved staying in Arthur's apartment in New Orleans. It was very spacious and the King bed was very comfortable The location was fabulous! His apartment is 5 minutes walk from Frenchmen Street, where all of the music venues are. It's about a 10 minutes walk to the Heart of the French Quarter. (2 minutes from Bourbon) Very easy to park and free. We also felt very safe and walked every where. Arthur took time to explain the map to us, telling us where the best restaurant were and other touristy things that we could do. He always answered my calls immediately. He was great! I would definitely stay there again! Thank you Arthur!
Thanks Arthur for taking such care of our cabin! Hope you can come back soon - DA
