This studio is really a room in a house and not worth the price. At 6:30 AM we could hear every possible sound from the kitchen separated from us with a door with big crack (we could hear sizzling omelet - to give you an idea how bad it was). We were told that there are other guests in the house...but it looked like this was actually a family that lives there (crying baby included). If you think about secluded romantic getaway - "Tropical Studio" is definitively NOT IT:) The place has no privacy at all. There is no AC and the place gets really hot at night. If you are planning on sleeping with open door don't forget mosquito replant (indoor and outdoor) otherwise you are going to fight the mosquitoes all night long...
Overall this is not a terrible place to crash in (you are in Maui after all) but definitively not for the price. I agree with the previous comment: "This place feels like the owner is trying to squeeze money out of a house. At $75 it would be fair".
Petr was nice and Lenka sent us nice info on Maui. The deck is beautiful and has a nice view. Good people live here and around here... But as far as the rental goes...
This "studio" was more of a room in a house that was somewhat awkwardly sealed off than its own self-contained unit. It was easy to hear everyone in the house and, unfortunately, the room had many bugs getting in through unsealed cracks. I did not find it to be a good value – for the price being asked you can do much better somewhere else. This place feels like the owner is trying to squeeze money out of a house. At $75 it would be fair. Further, there is another room right next to this one which apparently also gets rented. It wasn't rented when we were there- a good thing since otherwise there would be no privacy at all.
Super endroit vraiment très bien et hôte très sympa, à recommencer
Quiet with country feel. Close to beach. About 15 min walk or 3 min drive to town. Great host.
The best part of the experience was the hospitable and informative manager/host. This small corner room (inaccurately advertised as a studio) had a comfortable bed but was minimally equipped with a toaster, fridge and coffeepot. The wide lanai, which is unlit at night, had artistic but very uncomfortable chairs, and was poorly apportioned to different rooms, which meant other guests sat and smoked in front of our windows. There was no privacy! This was our first airbnb experience and it was not a winner, despite the terrific host, Petr.
Lenka and Petr were great hosts. The apartment is on a secluded street right of Hana Hwy (Road to Hana!), few minutes from the town of Paia and world famous surf spot Jaws. We took trips to the south shore to explore the island but we spent most of the time on the beach close to home, small, "private" and so relaxing. If you are looking for the true Hawaii life experience call Lenka now!! Aloha!
Place was perfect for what we needed it for, relaxing and convenient. Great place. Great hosts.
We have recently returned from Lahaina and stayed at 'Hawaii Relax' - Great host even though we never met. The follow up service was terrific as was the response to each email. Thank you Lenka. The situation was just perfect, with a 2 min walk to the action of Lahaina. Clean and is as appears in the photos. Highly recommended.
Our stay at the cottage was amazing! Perfect location, it was nice and quiet and very clean on our arrival!! There were no surprises, everything was just as posted!! Lenka had even brought the jeep to the airport for us to pick up when we had arrived in Maui!! I would definitely stay here again and again!! Just FYI the CAFE CAFE that Pavel and Heather run is awesome!! The coffee was perfect to start every morning!!
My daughter and I loved our stay in the cottage. Heather and Pavel were so friendly and helpful! The location was fantastic, only a short walk to all the town's main attractions and restaurants. Having the Jeep was fantastic for when we wanted to explore, and it made us feel like we were locals!
The cottage had everything we needed and was very well kept, clean and quiet. The use of the washer and dryer was a huge bonus when traveling with a child.
All in all I highly recommended this to any traveller wanting to escape the touristy resorts and experience Maui as a local.
