Giulio was a very pleasant host and took the time to show us the neighborhood for us to get comfortable with shopping, restaurants and transport to the city.
The room was very nice with lots of nice gadgets as you can see on pictures. Perfect with 2 toilets and fitted us ok all in all. (6 adults 3 children).
Would classify neighborhood as very bohemian with some noise from bars at night and a few drug dealers in the streets. But we felt safe and had no problems.
No tourists, we liked that, Very nice to experience the real Italian market every morning and the local old dudes in the coffee shops and the nice family restaurant with garden playground for the kids.
It was super amazing time in Rome. Big apartments, good location, cheap price and very friendly Gulio. Thanks for those times. If i will be in Rome next time, I will be stay only here.
Giulio's apartment was great. It is exactly like the pictures, a very nice and well decorated loft.
It is very spacious and the 2 bathrooms area good plus. The neighborhood is ok, it is very lively.
the only negative thing is that it may be a little far from city centre, a little far from true subway, but there is good connection by bus or tram. We even walked sometimes.
All in all we had a great time.
I really enjoyed my stay there. The host is great and was very upfront about everything to expect (such as noise at night etc). if I ever come to Rome again, i will try to stay there again. great place, loved it. the location is cool too. like Brooklyn to Manhattan.
The residence is secure, quite spacious, very clean, comfortable and well supplied. The location of this apartment however, is not easy to find (our GPS tried to steer us down the middle of a pedestrian mall). The nearest train station is less than a 5 minute walk and brought us to Roma Centrale from which we could easily use the Metro to get around town. We had no problem locating places to eat within a 10 minute radius of the apartment and found the shop owners to be quite hospitable and helpful (no one in our party speaks Italian) . The neighborhood is VERY "BOHEMIAN" so this space would best suite the young and/or adventurous rather than those who consider a 3 star hotel to be "roughing it". On the whole I had a great time (but one member of our 5 person team was a bit put off by the "gestalt").
Such a great weekend in Rome with 4 of my best friends ever and it wouldn't be what it was without Giulio's lovely flat. We felt like at home - so close to all the things that are great about the Rome, but at the same time - away from the crowds of tourists and being amidst the locals (especially in evenings when all the little bars open up that you would never guess there were during the day)!
We had to have fun staying in this casually stylish place. The apartment invites playfulness. Fill the room (and street) with piano playing, dance, lecture from the top of the indoor scaffolding, something, anything. Decide in advance to like the eclectic style and notice the well-selected cool stuff. Don't mistake it for random old stuff :)
Street life is constantly transforming and well off the beaten track. Colourful food stalls, bakeries and cafes in the morning. Grannies with roller bags pinch vegetables and catch up on gossip. Then shop fronts come down, the streets suddenly an edgy graffiti gallery. Underemployed locals and immigrants hang out, smoke and ignore or leer at strangers in their 'hood (yes, you). In the evening, other steel roller doors come up and the streets fill with a young and cool crowd, yapping away to cocktails and wine.
Negatives? Nothing you can't handle. Some nights people will stroll by from a nearby bar, possibly keeping you awake with chatter and laughter. But there are no bars in the street itself, which moreover is nearly traffic free. Depending on the season, mosquito repellent is a good idea. It's quite a long walk to the historical town centre and beyond, so you'll want to familiarise yourself with the public transport system.
Lovely flat in Rome!! I spent a wonderful stay with my friends here! Good area next to the central station of bus! Giulio is very nice and a good host! We recomnend this flat to spend holidays in Rome!!! Thank you Giulio!
