Karin's communication was excellent. She always managed to reply to messages within a day and her comments were really helpful. The apartment was perfect for what we needed - it was lovely having more space and a place to spread out that we wouldn't have got in a hotel room. The menus; recommendations and little touches that Karin left were really thoughtful and made a long distance journey much more manageable.
The flat was lovely; decorated beautifully and warm!! Jst what we needed with the snow!
I would recommend Karin's flat without hesitation to anyone wanting to stay in NYC.
My wife and i stayed here for a 3 day weekend in early September 2013, and it was perfect for us. The house has a great warm, home feeling, and the river-front property location is beautiful. Being across the street from the Circle-E diner was an added bonus.
We had a wonderful time at Chez Karin. The house was very welcoming, clean and with lots of little details that were so kind and appreciated. The backyard right on the river was divine and Karin had given us a list of places to eat at and things to do. Unfortunately, we didn't stay long enough to take advantage of everything, but we hope to return and spend some more time at the house and in the area in the future. It was very easy to communicate with Karin (she always got back to us right away) and we would definitely recommend her place to anyone wanting to relax and explore the Catskills. We have stayed in several places listed on this site, but Karin's place was by far the cleanest and most welcoming. Lots of towels, blankets, kitchen was immaculate as were the bathrooms.
We had a very nice stay at Karins home in the Catskills. The house was very comfortable with everything we would need for a weekend stay. Karin was very responsive from the time we made our reservation request to the lengthy email message we received describing the house, it's amenities, with many recommendations for places to eat, shop, and hike. The back yard (and especially the hammock were wonderful). The water level was very high and running fast due to recent rains so we never got the opportunity to get in the river. The only very minor complaints are that the beds were a little firm for our tastes and that the village had banned backyard fires (I assume temporarily) so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the wonderful fire pit along the waters edge.
We had a lovely time over a long weekend at Karin's house. It had all the comforts of home, including a beautiful bathroom fully stocked with nice toiletries. While the house was just a few minutes walk to the restaurants and shops of Hancock, including the delicious cafe and bakery, the view out the back with the river made it feel very secluded. Karin included detailed instructions and lots of tips for local excursions and amenities. We felt refreshed and relaxed by the end of our stay!
Cute house right in Hancock, and on the river! Host leaves tubes for floating, all kinds of nice touches inside, including lovely toiletries and plenty of basic supplies in the kitchen. Interior is decorated in cheerful colors, living room very comfortable. Bathroom is large and decorated like a room, itself. Stairs to 2nd floor are a little steep, just be aware. And 2 beds on 2nd fl. are futons on bedframes (or that's how they feel - not uncomfortable, just that futon feel). 3rd BR on 2nd fl. has daybed style bed. A little hazardous doorway in that one, right at the top of the steps. But this is a house the owner clearly uses herself and loves. And the owner was very responsive to questions. We would certainly go back!
We booked Karin's house the same day that we checked in and she was extremely accommodating and helpful. Her cottage is very quaint and decorated nicely. It is clear that Karin has put a lot of time and thought into maximizing the space and making it feel cozy. The house is very close to a busy main road, something to consider for small children or pets. The backyard, however, is huge and provides ample space to play and find quiet. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and were able to relax for the short time we were there.
My friends and I really enjoyed the house and especially the back yard. It is perfect place for a little get away. River is right behind the house. The city ( Hancock) is famous by its smoked trout. So if you go there don't forget your fishing pole.
Had a great time at this lovely house! Charming town and a beautiful hike nearby too. We hope to come back in warmer weather to take more advantage of the river. Loved it!
We had such a wonderful weekend at Karin's house. It was exactly (if not better) as pictured/described, and the special little additions Karin left for us were so appreciated. The house was clean, well taken care of, UNIQUE, and so cozy. We felt right at home from the second we got there (including our Boston Terrier, "Tuna"). We watched the movie "Goonies" snuggled up in blankets and snacking on the Mike n' Ike's Karin had left for us as a movie theater snack! The local supermarket is in walking distance, and we grilled up some awesome steaks right on the deck. The people in town are super friendly and helpful as well.
The clawfoot tub was a highlight for me, and the river being IN the backyard was a highlight for my boyfriend!
P.S. If you make it up to Hancock, be sure to visit the local eel smokehouse operated by legendary Ray Turner. We got to hang out with his emu. Trust me, Ray alone is worth the visit.
Thank you Karin for an incredibly relaxing weekend and a truly one-of-a-kind lodging experience!!

I've stayed at Karin's beautiful place on the Delaware River numerous times. It is awesome! The house itself is beautiful, lovingly restored with many thoughtful touches. It is very comfortable in every way. You will feel totally relaxed - from the comfy beds and seating to the luxurious bathroom (including towel heater for the winter!) to the absolutely amazing view. Can't be beat! I highly recommend eating several meals at the Circle E Diner across the way. Take the inner tubes out for a ride down the river. The area is really great for hiking, antiquing, and general exploring. Enjoy!
