My husband and I stayed at the Robinson Crusoe House for 4 nights. It was absolutely amazing!! very tranquil. We spent our days relaxing on the hammocks, snorkeling in front of the house, slack lining and exploring the local area. Each night, we watched the sunset and grilled local fish / pineapple over the fire. We fell asleep to the sound of the waves. I will miss this dearly! The house is open air and feels very safe. There is a lockbox in house where we kept our passports and wallets. The neighbors are also so nice. If you are looking for a tranquil, romantic oasis and local culture- this is the place!! You will not regret it. Herve is a fantastic host! I would highly recommend renting a 4x4 vehicle to get there, explore the nearby villages and for beer runs ;-)
Robinson is a great place if you want privacy, a beach view with a beautiful sunset and if you want to live close to the nature. Exactly what we wanted and we loved it. Herve was a great host and he even welcomed us with a home made lunch and helped us when we got a flat tire. I would recommend this place any day, do yourself a favor and book it right away.
Wow! we just stayed at the Robinson Crusoe House aka "The hidden Gem" To paint a picture for you, our stay included stunning long sunsets, a secluded beach, hammock siestas, fresh coconuts, fishing and Kind Costa Ricans!
Loved that we were in our own little village with plenty of local entertainment…monkeys, iguanas, kittens, rosters, geckos even wild horses running down the beach!
It was nice to be close to Tamarindo and have the option to join in on the hustle and bustle with lots of restaurants and shops, it's only about an hour and a half drive 4x4 highly recommended for Costa Rican Roads (Do not rent from Alamo or National) We ha A LOT of trouble with them!
If you're the adventurous and go on tours in the rain forest be sure to bring your water shoes, sunscreen, bug spray we found skin so soft & off botanicals worked the best and the local product Zepol works to sooth bites and dater bugs as well.
All in all a big thank you to Herve for being a great host! we were welcomed with fresh home made coconut Lemonade, water melon and papaya! Herve wen't above and beyond to personally make sure we got all that we need and answered any questions we had about things to do an places to go. He even invited us to his charity event for the local school…Fun Fact, Herve is an amazing pastry chef ;)
We can't wait to come back for another visit!!
A truly unique experience that was the perfect way to relax and unwind in outstandingly beautiful surroundings. A few locals as neighbours but we literally had this rugged part of the coastline to ourselves. It is remote, yes, and if you're coming from Nosara the roads are very basic so you definitely require a 4WD. The host was super helpful, gave us a great guided tour and fully explained everything we needed to know about the accommodation and the surrounding area. The property itself is unique, rustic and has everything you need in this environment. Literally 10 metres from the shoreline and fairly open to the elements this beautiful beach shack has had a lot of thought and love put into it. The quirky design adds to the experience. We loved it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The perfect way to escape from the more commercial parts of Costa Rica. It really is as the name suggests, true Robinson Crusoe!! Go prepared and stock up well with supplies/food before arrival.
Very nice beach house.
We had a wonderfull time.
Everything was fine.
I can highly recommend it.
The rocky beach in front of the house is not really suitable for relaxed swimming.
Herve's place is amazing! The views and privacy are unbeatable for the price. It's far from luxurious but the fresh coconuts and sunsets make up for it. Herve went to great lengths to make our stay enjoyable! Thanks again Herve. Pura vida
Everything was amazing at this lovely place. Thanks for giving us the opportunity staying at such an amazing place.
Très bons contacts et bon séjour avec Hervé. Bon retour au Venezuela.
i ve been visiting herve and had an amazing short time on his little beach house on Lagarto ...cooking , snorkling , walking on the beach , hammock ,wine wine and wine ......
peace , silence and waves sounds... no road to cross to put myself in the water. and swim ...i ll be definitely back very soon as it is only 45min from my house in Nosara .
