Hi there! I've lived in northwest Portland since 2004 and I love this neighborhood. I hope you'll love it, too.

Horrible, horrible hosts!! NO communication before the trip after repeated attempts by me. NO place to stay upon arrival in Portland and NO help after things were eventually settled. I recognize that other people have had good experiences but my own stay was not a great way to ring in the new year. I would be very hesitant about staying with Sara and her husband. They seem to be overwhelmed right now with a new baby and are not as focused on their airbnb responsibilities as they should be.
Goose Hollow is a great location to stay in Portland, and the unit itself is cozy. However, it's listed as sleeping 3, and when we arrived there was only one king-size bed in the unit, and no fold-out sofa or something like that as we were expecting. After we called, the owners were prompt in delivering a twin mattress for our third guest which we set up in the living room. It wasn't ideal, but it worked. The king-size bed was very comfortable and roomy. Next time we will probably pick a larger place to accomodate 3 adults.
A nice place in Portland, secure and close to all the activity around 23rd & Pearl district-everything that was needed, including coffee filters- I especially thought the varied selection of books in bookcase, was a nice touch - Dan & Cindy
Our hosts went out of their way to provide us a key, even after border delays caused us to be three hours later than we said we would for check-in. The building was older, but comfortably appointed, and we had a great visit. All in all, a fantastic experience; thanks to our hosts for making it so!
Great clean apartment in Portland proper. Walking distance to a wonderful little shopping district and butts up to the magnificent Washington Park. The only thing to consider is that it is upstairs and parking is a block away. Other than that I would definitely recommend this apartment.

This was a perfect spot to "get to know Portland". Next to an incredible store, Zupan's, and right down the street from Elephant Deli. The apartment was perfect, a bit loud in the early evening, but well worth it to be in the heart of NW.
Thanks Sara and Tim for a wonderful place.
Overall, we had a great experience at Sara and Tim's apartment! Sara was very easy to book with and work with before and during our stay. We really enjoyed the location - grocery store next door, pharmacy across the street, a number of good bakeries/coffee spots/ice cream parlors and awesome stores blocks away (both my husband and I bought new jeans at a very nice store across the street from the apt) and it was great to have parking close by.
We were traveling with a baby, and they had a pack n play available for a nominal fee. They even connected us with a baby sitter so we could enjoy a night on the town! The photos are accurate: it is a clean and vintage apartment with fluffy linens. It does not have new appliances or a dishwasher, but that was fine for us. As others have said, it is on a very busy street. There is definitely street noise, but it did not bother us (or our baby) when sleeping (or napping), which is what really matters. If you are traveling with a baby, it may be worth noting that it is a bit hard to babyproof the space because there are these very efficient vintage heaters are at shin (baby) height. We just kept our eyes on the little guy, but if you have an active one, it might be a challenge. Again, the location is great. During a break in the rain, we drove up to the Japanese Garden and it took three minutes. During a sunny visit, we would have been in the park every day!
