Hello AirBNB! I live in a one bedroom one bath apartment in an area of downtown Austin called the Warehouse District less than a mile from the Austin Convention Center but quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. It's half a block away from the flagship Whole Foods store if you're feeling healthy. The living room and kitchen are large and the bathroom opens to the common area. The apartment complex features a swimming pool, a fitness center and a rooftop deck. There is a washer and dryer in the apartment that you are welcome to use too!
My first experience in Austin before I moved here was for SXSW and most of the places I went to were within walking distance of this apartment. If it's not within walking distance to this apartment then it's not likely to be within pedicab distance either. (Most important for SXSW or other conferences: I have wireless internet, a lot of power outlets and great cell phone reception.)
What is the Warehouse District you ask? The Warehouse district, just west of the central business district, is the upscale cousin to 6th street. A bit trendier and certainly more pricey, it caters to a slightly older crowd than the other downtown entertainment areas. True to its name, the restaurants and clubs in this district have been renovated from former warehouses into trendy restaurants, top-notch concert halls, and distinctive bars. Live music is everywhere in the Warehouse District and great restaurants are easy to find.
