Matt was a great host and the flat was absolutely lovely in one of the most beautiful locations in London. I would highly recommend it!
This apartment is pleasant, well-equipped and convenient to transport, cafes and supermarkets as well as Hampstead Village and the beautiful Heath. I spent 12 very pleasant days here and would be happy to recommend it to others.
Everything about this stay was so much more than I could have hoped for. The flat is a little oasis of tranquility in the midst of London. It's ideally located and well equipped; really, it's just perfect. Matt is a fantastic host -- warm, welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. I loved my three weeks in this property, and can't wait to make a return visit. Thank you so much, Matt!
Great flat and very great host (with great sense of humour)
My husband and I spent 5 days in Matt's flat. The flat holds everything you can ask for; well equipped kitchen with dining space, nice bathroom with shower, livingroom with access to balcony and a comfy bed in the bedroom. The area is quiet and only 2 minutes from Hampstead Heath where you can spend hours walking, running or biking - one of Londons most fantastic green spots. Unfortunately we did not meet Matt but we became great penpalls during our visit and we wanted the flat so much that we tried to book it again but unfortunately we did not succeed this time as Matt's little gem flat is very popular. Thank you so much for making our stay a special one -we'll be back1
Perfect flat, perfect location, perfectly lovely host! Everything you need is here; a full kitchen, comfy bed and sofa, tv, great shower, spectacular view of the garden, washer/dryer, wifi, and a roof terrace. (That's a necessity, isn't it?) This area of Hampstead is supremely beautiful, quiet, safe, and functional. There's so much at the bottom of the street: several fabulous bakeries, a lovely independent bookshop, an M&S Simply Food, a pharmacy, a terrific local pub with rotating real ales (The Garden Gate), and an Overground station (handy!). It's easy walking distance to two tube stations, two Everyman cinemas (HIGHLY recommended) and seconds from the Heath. I can't overstate the importance of the Heath; It's full of green things, birds, ponds, meandering paths, and the happiest dogs you've ever seen. If you're not familiar with London, you should know that you're at no disadvantage being in North London. It's easy to get everywhere from here, and easy to get home again. When Oxford St. is jammed and exhausting, Hampstead is friendly, warm, welcoming, quiet, and a relief to return to. Matt is a fantastic host; friendly, kind, and generous, he takes care of you without ever invading your privacy. He just lets you get on with it, like you belong here. But should you need anything, or have any questions, he's right there. If you're contemplating booking this flat, I'm jealous already.
It was a pleasure staying at Matt’s apartment.
Matt's place was just perfect. Exactly what we were looking for….
The apartment met all our needs and it was light, airy and quiet…Nice to be in front of the window and terrace with garden views. Matt has supplied everything one could need and we found it exactly as described. Fully equipped and very comfortable, there were plenty of information, maps and books on London and everything for help and enjoyment.
Impressive connection to Hampstead Heath: 1 minute walking distance. A luxury!!!.
We were pleased to meet Matt, who was very welcoming and always available. Despite the short meeting, he was extremely pleasant, helpful, friendly and very, very cheerful.
We definitely hope to stay again if we go to London. Highly recommended!
Wonderful stay, thank you Matt for sharing your idyllic place!
The only one complaint: I WANT TO STAY MOOOOOOOOOOOOORE
Matt's flat comes highly recommended. Great location, comfortable, sunny terrace and excellent access to beautiful walks, great pubs and many options for transport.
Matt himself was a great host - accommodating and friendly and left us to it (safely in the knowledge that if we had any questions we were welcome to contact him).
We hope to have the opportunity to visit again in the future!
Matt's flat truly was an idyll - the perfect home base for our month in London. It is in a fantastic neighborhood, quiet, clean air, near the park, lots of good food, and tons of buses and tube AND overground so it's very easy to get anywhere in the city quickly. I would highly recommend the flat to anyone looking for a peaceful escape at the end of the day, or a quiet place to work during the day. Matt was also a fabulous host - thoughtful, friendly, thorough, responsive. I would absolutely stay here again when I return to London.
Excellent 1 bedroom apartment to take an extended stay in. Bright, nicely furnished, comfortable bed, great little outdoor patio area overlooking a nice green garden. Matt was great host; friendly, but not intrusive. Excellent quiet and beautiful location right across from Hampstead Heath park & ponds and the surrounding part of London has a nice village feel to it! We really enjoyed our time there.
Comfortable, clean design. A thoughtfully updated flat with all amenities. Wash and dry your clothes / blow-dry your hair / tidy up with supplies provided by Matt. He didn't intrude, but was quick to respond to requests. With one flat per floor, this was a quiet private space. In summer we loved the terrace overlooking a wild spot of trees and bushes. Neighbors to the rear were distant and hidden from sight. Hard to believe, but a happy result of the streets laid out around Hampstead Heath. In our experience the whole neighborhood is very safe and quiet--excepting a little weekend street noise when the pubs close. This doesn't last long and just reminds up that we're back in the UK and one of our favorite places, So we may well find ourselves back at Matt's on our next visit. Of course nothing is perfect, and we do have two caveats: First, young children are not allowed to visit the building, and rightly so, for their own safety. Second, not-so-young or not-so-fit adults may choose not to visit/stay here for similar reasons. Matt and I emailed Q&A 's to settle these concerns. Discounting these two reservations, contact Matt, make your arrangements, and go have a good time.
