Tony was a great host and made sure to have everything in order for a smooth check in. I was on a business trip and wanted to stay somewhere unique. Hotels can be depressing for more than a couple nights. Tony went above and beyond what most people would do to ensure I had a good experience on his boat. You cant beat the location, access to the beach, fine dining, and surrounding area. Great spot for a couple to get away and do something different for the weekend. Would stay again in the future. Thank you Tony!
Tony was very easy going and had a lovely boat. It was clean and a nice distance to food and the rest of the harbor. We enjoyed our stay.
We had a great experience staying on Tony's sailboat. Tony was extremely flexible, professional and had no problem accommodating our last minute reservation. As for the boat, the living space was clean and far from cramped. There was also plenty of parking in the Marina. I would highly recommend 30' Catalina Sailboat to anyone looking to stay in Newport Beach.
Hello. Tony was an excellent host who not only gave us a beautiful sailboat to stay on, but was helpful in many other ways. He gave us in useful information on where local attractions were and even turned us onto strong Mai Tai drinks near by when arrived a bit early. In a nutshell, if you are looking for a romatic getaway located in a beautiful marina, rent this sailboat from Tony. My wife and myself are not tall people so the forward cabin sleeping was fine. If you are taller just put the wood slat down in the main quarters and you will have more accommodating sleeping quarters. Tony was great and so was the experience. I would recommend Tony and the sailboat stay to everyone interested.
Tony was very accommodating and we had a great time on the boat. Reading out in the sun was definitely a highlight of our trip.
Tony met us at the marina and introduced himself. The boat was very clean and tidy. We were able to take showers in the marina bathrooms and those accommodations were also very nice.
Had a great experience all the way around. It was unique and a good way to enjoy this nice area. Felt safe & comfortable. Manage your expectations, this isn't a luxury hotel, but it was a fun experience.
My wife and I stayed one night on the boat and it was awesome. Tony was super helpful and welcoming, he was quick to respond to any email or text and made the whole process really smooth. The boat was larger than the pictures give justice and really warm and comfortable. It has everything you need and we really enjoyed the Bluetooth speaker system. As for the location, it's also really stellar, it's within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and grocery stores. We loved it and would jump at the chance to stay there again.
My wife and I had a wonderful time on Tony's sailboat. He was very responsive throughout and made it an overall great experience. He was informative and provided great hospitality. The boat itself is well maintained and clean. I'm 6'1" and the boat felt roomy and cozy. Not much rocking as it's in the slip. The V-bed was small, but it worked, my feet hung over a few inches. There is another bed that could easily fit someone of my height. Great sound system in the boat. The marina facilities are nice and just a short walk. The beach was a 10 minute walk and you're surrounded by great restaurants. Next time we visit Newport we'll definitely want to return to stay on Tony's boat.
Are you looking from something unique, comfortable, story worthy, and in an amazing location?
If so you're in luck. Tony's boat is everything you think it is.
If you're like me, you probably do traditional apartments, or hotels when you travel(Disclaimer I travel for work). There isn't anything new, or exciting, and about the best you can hope for is some amazing tech in the place you're renting.
Tony's boat throws that idea to the wind... you're on a freaking boat! I spent my time there incredibly relaxed. The stereo/bluetooth system is great, with superb sound quality, and I spent several nights falling asleep to violin or guitar solo's. Plus I walked away with a few stories.
While the boat doesn't rock all the much, when it does at night, it adds some extra realism to the experience.
Some things you should know.
Tony is very communicative. He's friendly, down to earth, full of energy, and very real. I had a couple questions pop up, and he was super responsive.
Showering: There is an access controlled facility within a 50 foot radius of the boat for showering. There are separate access points for men, and woman. There are also restroom facilities as well(Tony has a toilet on the boat as well, but I preferred the facility... and I can't really figure out why. I'm pretty sure it just felt like home or something).
The location is right on PCH, and you're within driving distance of tons of hotspots in Newport Beach. In Fact, just across the street is "A Restaurant" a popular place for cocktails after work, and directly next door is the Winery(I loved this place).
If you're considering, thinking about, or even interested in the experience.. it's well worth the investment, and you'll walk away with some stories, and you'll probably experience something new.(Life is all about our experiences right?)
