Nice place. Would stay again.
Its not super fancy, no ac and no american style hot water (maybe was warmed up though im not sure).
Good location and terrace.
I stayed in La Terraza for 5 days. Loved it! As everyone else has stated, the location is perfect! You're close to everything, the super market is small but less then a 2 minute walk. If you fancy some yoga, there is Zen Yoga just around the back of the building. It's perfect.
The first floor apartment is great if you're looking for something simple. A well equipped kitchen, double bedroom with AC and a room with bunk bed, which we didn't use.
There are a number of laundrettes right on the street, but I believe that Katie does offer a laundry service.
Wifi was a little up and down while we were there, but we were on holiday! So who cares!
The shower has good pressure and nice hot water.
There were a couple of times that the electricity went out, but the fuse box is right in the hall so we were happy to do it ourselves.
Katie also sent a driver to the airport for us when we arrived.
Overall we really enjoyed out stay. San Juan is the perfect place to kick back and relax, and Terraza was a great place to do it.
What a great apartment! Katie has an awesome establishment with an amazing location and accommodations! It's safe, clean, and despite no A/C in this unit, I slept very comfortable with the breeze and fans. Katie was flexible with some requests that I had made during my visit. I highly recommend this apartment as your place to stay in SJDS!
The 3rd floor apartment at La Terraza was amazing! Stunning views and cleanliness made my visit an enjoyable one. Katie was very helpful in getting me situated. I was not suppose to check in until the official check in time (but I was out surfing anyway) and Katie let me store my bags, provided me with keys, and gave me the low down while the apartment was getting cleaned from the previous guests. This was very helpful that she accommodated my needs. I would highly recommend this as the place to stay in SJDS. Centrally located and safe made this an excellent experience!
There wasn't much interaction from the hosts, but the apartment was clean and we had a nice stay with our two children.
We loved your 3 bdrm Condo, it was exactly as it was pictured. The Condo was clean, open and in a great location. We enjoyed our stay very much. Felt safe, enjoyed our view especially the sunsets, awesome.
We really appreciated the full tank of water, Thank you!!
Katie was very friendly. There were other staff around nearly 24 hours a day which is good for security, etc. The location is excellent. The first/ground floor apartment is OK. Despite the name there is no terraza for this apartment.
This was our second time to stay at La Terraza and we enjoyed both times. This year we met Katie, who was working long hours painting and updating the third floor rooms. Although she was working on deadline due to new guests arriving; she took time to make sure we were comfortable and happy - which we were!! We stayed on the second floor and were pleased with the cleanliness and privacy. Thanks Katie!!
The place is nicely situated in the main part of town, 3 blocks from the beach and 1 away from all of the local bars and restaurant. The host was prompt and allowed for us to check in quickly. The space is a bit older and felt like it was used to be a hostel accommodation, locks on every bedroom door. It was a good base camp for our group of friends during our SJDS adventure. Pictures are somewhat deceptive as it is a bit older and the beautiful hammock turned into a regular plain old hammock. Otherwise, it was an overall pleasant stay.
First, I have to say that this review is actually for the 3rd floor apartment listed by Katie. Due to a double booking, she graciously offered us an upgrade to the 3rd floor instead of the Garden Apartment.
If you are looking for a hotel-like experience, this may not be the apartment for you. The building is a bit dated, but it has a character and charm to it that goes along with it.
The balcony is quite nice, and we spent a lot of time out there, either reading in the hammock, or just people watching with a cup of coffee. We also kept the doors to the balcony open while we were home during the day, which kept a cool breeze blowing through the apartment, but also let in a good amount of dust.
The location in San Juan Del Sur is good if you want to be near all of the action. You can walk to just about anywhere in town in less than 10 minutes, and being just two blocks away from the market meant that we could get our produce pretty easily. Also, there are two small convenience stores right below the apartment and a great pizza place (Mauricio's) right around the corner.
Katie was there to greet us upon arrival, and managed to make a reservation for us at El Timon's cultural night, which we highly recommend. There were a few nice ladies that operated the desk and kept up with the cleaning, etc. that were also very helpful throughout our stay.
There is an ample amount of security and we felt safe during our week-long visit here. Overall, we'd recommend this as an upgrade over the many hostels that are all over SJDS.
