Gero's 2 bdrm apartment was very clean and quite spacious. There was free internet (wifi) and cable. He was a gracious host. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay (especially a family) in a safe and trendy neighborhood that is so close to Manhattan.
This apartment was very conveniently located for our trip. It was nice having some extra space during a 5 day stay (rather than being crammed into a hotel room). The bed in the master bedroom was ridiculously comfortable and I have very high bed standards : )
My older brother slept on the inflatable bed in the second bedroom/nursery and he said it was a very comfortable bed as well, which is amazing for an inflatable mattress! Overall, a very pleasant experience and I would stay here again.
The host is a fantastic communicator and worked with me really well when I thought I might need to cancel the reservation. You can tell he is a super nice guy.
It was my first airbnb stay, too. And it was very nice. I went to NY
with my best friend and we both thought, that the apartment is good
located. It really only a stone's throw to Manhattan. By foot it takes
max 5 minutes to the subway and only a few stops and there you are. The
place was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. The bed was
comfortable and in the night is was pleasantly quiet. The apartment is
the way it looks on the pictures.
The communication with Geronimo was great. He was very obliging. He
helpes us with the little questions we had and recommended restaurants,
bars, supermarkets in the surrounding area. So all in all - very good
apartment and friendly host!
This was my first airbnb stay, and it couldn't have been better. Geronimo was a great communicator, answered my questions as a new airbnb user, and worked out my stay in NYC on short notice. This, all in the middle of Hurricane Sandy coming to town at the same time.
Gero and his cousin Lou were gracious hosts and made my week in Long Island City wonderful. Even with no subway service due to the storm, I was still able to walk across the Queensboro Bridge and get to Manhattan relatively easily. In other words, great location, great room, great hosts. Highly recommended!
Gero is the perfect host! A very friendly and helpful, gave excellent suggestions and treated us like friends ... The apartment is in a quiet area, and in a strategic location if you want to go sightseeing New York City! It is located just one stop by subway from Grand Central station and two stops from Times Square, excellent access to all parts of the island! (and Brooklyn) The room is clean and the house very cozy and nicely decorated.
Surely if we return to New York (I hope) we will still be here!
We had a great stay in Gero's appartment. The apartment is clean, nicely furnished, in a quiet house. The room is in the "corner", i.e. has good privacy compared to the other bedroom that's right next to the living room. The bed is really comfy but if you are short be prepared for climbing up into it!
Gero actually lives a few minutes away but was around to let us in and reachable via phone. We only saw his cousin Lou (who does live in this apartment) and her partner for a total of 5 minutes late one night but had the entire place to ourselves most of the time - this was unexpected but nice! The only minor inconvenience was that there was a little mixup and Lou accidentally took our umbrella on the rainy day. We got wet, but after we left a note the umbrella reappeared the next day while we were out, but an apology would have been nice :(
Overall we had a great and very quiet stay. If you get a chance, do take the short hike down to the riverside park near the apartment for beautiful views over Manhattan. There are also a few restaurants on Vernon Boulevard that seem worth checking out, we had some great Thai food at Tuk Tuk NY. "Communitea" (also on Vernon) is a nice place for breakfast.
One more thing: Airbnb send us a slightly different address than Gero did. Gero sent the right one, Airbnb's is a few houses down.
Gero is a gracious, generous host and this room is nice, clean, and really convenient. I highly recommend it.
our stay in Gero´s apartment was a great time. We didn´t meet Gero himself. But his cousin Lou was living with us in the apartment. She was very friendly and everything was uncomplicated.
The apartment itself was clean and everything was available for us. We had our own room and had access to the bathroom, kitchen and living room.
The apartment was located at a perfect place. By walking three minutes we could reach the subway, which took us to every point of the city.
The area seemed to be very safety and fine.
So it was a awesome trip to New York City and the apartment was the base for this beautiful trip.

It was very nice to meet Gero. We arrived very early from Las Vegas and he accepted we came in the morning. The room is pretty big and very nice, as the full apartment. It's very close to many different metro stations, groceries, some restaurants, and the MOMA PS1 is at one block. Gero wasn't there but his cousin was there, but we finally didn't see her so much. Our stay was great there, even if we didn't spend so much time in the apartment. Highly recommended.
Gero & his family were great guests, very cool family who left our place very clean. They were very ponctual too!
Hope to meet them in NYC!
Geronimo is very nice person. I had a very good experience. Anytime again!
Fue un placer! It was a pleasure to host Gero - thank you so much for being such a responsible and communicative guest! Highly recommended and welcome back anytime ... Hasta pronto?
