This was an ideal place to stay and Vivien made us very welcome, even though we arrived hours later than planned after a grisly journey! Directions perfect and she was there to let us in. Super property, exactly as described and rather exciting to stay in a proper tenement, spotlessly clean and with all kinds of thoughtful provisions which meant we did not have to dash out to buy things for breakfast. A real find - if ever we're back in Dunblane we will definitely book this place again. So much character and very friendly neighbours to whom we chatted over a glass of wine in the pretty garden.
Vivien was in touch before my arrival with all details and answered any queries. Alan very kindly offered to collect me from the train station and take me back on departure. You will be made most welcome to their property and feel assured of assistance should you need it, having their own house nearby. The property description is accurate and would meet all your needs: you can use the back garden and a nice outdoor seating area when the weather is fair. The neighbourhood is historic and quiet but just above the cathedral, town, shops, travel connections and all amenities. Two streets away there is easy access to the Laighills area, full of pathways stretching either towards public park, river and a longer route to town or along the Scouring Burn and northwards to Ashfield village. This interconnected area is full of grassland and wetland wildlife. I can also recommend the ancient Darn Road to Bridge of Allan which starts opposite Beech Road in the town and follows the east bank of the Allan Water, where I saw Deer and Grey Heron.
This ground floor flat is in an old building and has been beautifully renovated to provide everything that's needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It was clean, comfortable and convenient. Dunblane was well situated for some of the walks we planned to do. Vivien was speedily helpful when we couldn't find the cooking utensils - our fault, as we assumed that what turned out to be a drawer under the stove was part of the architrave. Thanks too to Vivien for posting the mail we inadvertently left behind.
We really enjoyed our time in Dunblane and the flat was very comfortable and quiet. Vivien had the kitchen stocked with all that we needed for breakfast and more on arrival; the wifi works well and the location is central to the town's lovely old shopping streets and the cathedral and just a short drive to the lochs and nearby towns.
I stayed at Vivien and Alan's lovely flat back in February and was delighted to be able to return while I attended training at Stirling Uni. It is a lovely flat to stay in. Comfortable, nicely decorated and with everything you need. There is a new TV in the property. The broadband is super fast. It was great to find milk, eggs, porridge and other provisions on arrival - there is a co-op nearby for groceries. Ramoyle is a fabulous part of Dunblane to stay in and the walk into town past the cathedral was always a joy. Vivien and Alan are very welcoming and friendly, it really felt like going back to my Dunblane home :).
I have loved my stay here! Alan and Vivien were extremely welcoming, leaving food in the cupboards so I did not have to immediately go to the shops. They were very quick to respond to any questions I had. Ramoyle is a really nice street, quiet and pretty and close by a stunning cathedral. There are a number of excellent takeaways close by, which I made use of whenever I didn’t feel like cooking! The flat itself is very comfortable, warm and airy. There are a number of plug outlets so I always found somewhere comfortable to sit with my laptop and the Wi-Fi works extremely well. The bathroom is fantastic, with a deep bathtub. Dunblane itself is beautiful, and situated close to Stirling for any other needs. I really recommend this flat!
Vivien was an excellent host, welcoming us to her cosy flat. The cupboards were well stocked, the bed was comfy, and the flat was lovely. Ramoyle is great base for exploring Dunblane, it was lovely walking past the cathedral on the short walk down to the centre. I based myself here for Stirling Uni and would certainly do so again. An excellent flat and a kind host!
We had a really good time hosting Vivien and Alan. They are very friendly, respectful and organized people. They took very good care of our space and used our apartment as if it was theirs. Also, it was very interesting to get some information about things to do and see in Scotland. And we were very happy to answer their questions about sightseeings in Paris. They are welcome any time and of course we thoroughly recommend to any host!
Vivien and alan were lovely guests. They shared their experiences of Scotland and had great enthusiasm for travel and exploration of Victoria. They were flexible , appreciative, warm and easy to talk to. Would love to have them back.
Vivien and Alan were absolutely lovely guests. It was delightful getting to know them and I hope they return.
