I admit that i am very lucky person. Because i came across this hostel randomly. Previous recommendations were that i only knew about Ecoisthan. I couldn't meet with Sonay but i met with Kadir. He was very kind person. Ecoisthan is the next door of the Galata Tower. It is very easy to find the address. I stayed there 2 nights and all these days i was alone at the room. I don't know this related with my luck or host's gesture. But it was perfect, thank you :) The room was clean and silent. You can only hear the noises from out, but it is not irritant. Furthermore you live the city at your sleep. Wireless internet is free and it is really speedy. I think from now on i will stay Ecoisthan all my Istanbul trips if hosts accept me. I also hope that i will meet with Sonay at my next trip and i want to drink Kadir's coffee. (because i had no time to drink his coffee this time)
This place is in the perfect location! It's walkable to all the great areas of Istanbul that I loved. I luckily had the room to myself, which was a bonus! I normally don't stay in hostels, but the price, location, and accommodations were great. The only thing I found difficult were the toilet/shower room setups. It was tiny, but functioned.
Fully met our needs as a family of 5 would not hesitate to recommend or book in the future. Room was clean and welcomingly well heated for December weather.
I brought a group of middle schoolers to Istanbul for a conference. Crazy as it seems, we wanted a place where we could contain all of the boys in one room and all of the girls in another. Sonay's place did the trick. The kids loved that it felt like a dorm experience; I loved that I didn't have to wonder what was going on in the room down the hall. The rooms are clean and comfortable - no frills, but exactly as advertised. Since we were attending a conference it would've been nice to have a place to hang a suit or dress, but Sonay found hangers for us and we improvised using the railings of the bunks. All of the people working in the guesthouse were extremely friendly and accommodating, making breakfast for us at whatever time we needed, and genuinely taking an interest in and being nice to the children. Some places shudder when a group of kids walks in - Sonay smiled and called them "The colorful decorations in our guesthouse." It's location near the Galata tower made it easy to find and easy to get out and see Istanbul. We felt safe and absolutely loved the artsy-Bohemian vibe to the Galata neighborhood.
Sonay is a great host. Very informative and flexible. I really enjoyed staying in her and her friends' hostel. The location is perfect and the place nice, quiet and clean. Just what I was looking for. Thanks again!
These flats are within around 200 meters of the Taksim Square Havas bus from the airports. And the subway. Very close to Istiklal but very quiet. The flat is very comfortable and spacious. Good for both work and tourism.
Sonay is a very caring host; she was waiting for us on our arrival and was contactable throughout our stay. She also texted us during the week to make sure that everything was OK for us.
We stayed in the second floor apartment and the pictures on the website are a good reflection of the property. The apartment is very stylishly decorated and well furnished. The living room and bedroom are both very spacious. The shower room/WC is compact, but has a lovely hot rain shower!
The location is very convenient for tourists, on the edge of the bohemian- chic area of Cihangir with its little shops and restaurants, yet also close to Istiklal and Taksim. There are two Carrefour Express supermarkets close by for all shopping needs. The only issue for some might be the proximity of a lively bar on the adjoining street, with music some nights into the early hours. But nowhere in Istanbul is without noise and I can't say that we were seriouly disturbed at all.
All in all, I would recommend Many Things Apartment as a very comfortable and convenient base in Istanbul.
The apartment is really nice and clean and the terrace has an amazing view. It´s perfectly located close to Taksim Square. We really had a good time there. Sonay is a very helpful and friendly host. I can definitely recommend to stay there.
The apartment was a great location and nicely decorated. However, with other apartments I've been in, they usually have some basic amenities that were not at Many Things. For example, hand soap, tissues, laundry detergent, paper towels, bottled water, etc. Also, I usually leave some things behind for the next guest--this time I didn't, because there was nothing there for me. I think that basic amenities make one feel more welcome. Thanks.
The flat is in nice location, close to İstiklal Avenue where you can find cafes, shops and anything you can think of. It's also convenient because a bus from and to airport is coming from Taksim Square - a 5 minutes walk from the apartment.
The only CON I found is the ceiling height of the apartment where kitchen is located. It's about 185 cm and it was really annoying for me (I'm 196 cm).
